Compare saints 3rd goal, 26 passes to west hams 3rd goal. Massive hoof out by rob green, flick header by piqueonne and volley by baldock - 3 touches. some will say effective but i know what i would rather watch.
Exactly. But yet there are still some people on here who want to see Davis just hammer the ball forward for us at every attempt. As you say, it's effective - and indeed, under Pardew it was effective for us - but not attractive. Paying money to watch your team win is good. Paying money to watch your team win and play good football is great.
Lambert dropped the old shoulder superbly to skin the defender. To say there was no challenge is a disrespect
Indeed. Besides, I think some of the Boro players had switched off by then. They hadn't seen the ball in several minutes. EDIT: BTW, Viking. Any chance of buggering off back to the Hull forum for 5 minutes..?
Boro were just knackered by then. They wanted to go home, but our Action Men had a good 20 minutes left in them.
Highlights on Player. Still only showed about six passes..you could hear the crowd ole-ing. Hopefully the full build-up will be shown on extended highlights.
There was indeed no real challenge on Ricky due to the fact that the boro team were by that point in a hypnotic state due to the dazzling brilliance and pure magic of the football that preceded him weaving his way into position to deliver the killer ball to Connolly who finished in style and who can blame them i'm surprised they did'nt raise the white flag of surrender there and then
Another great goal. Of course, THAT one CBK was against the ruling European Champions! Happy memories.
Thanks to Twitter suggestions, Connolly's goal is one of five to have been nominated for football league goal of the weekend. You can vote for Connolly's goal here: http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10794,00.html (scroll down to the bottom)
Remember when argentina scored a simialr goal to this in the world cup? and all the hype that come with it....that was only 25 passes?!
