Roma win 2-0 class showing through at the end but we did match them for 70 minutes and should have taken the lead, and have benefitted from a very good work out. Batth outstanding for me in dodgy back line. OaU
Great workout for the boys, thought Embleton looked really fit and sharp when he was on the pitch - he dropped off a lot after he went off. Looking forward to the game on Saturday now in the Dundee sunshine
happy with that, we could/should have scored but they deserved the win and if honest they could easily have had a couple more. another good work out for the lads, very good first half but seemed to drop off second half or maybe roma stepped it up a bit, the young lads that came on did well i thought.
Good standard team we played, the team who played last Saturday would not have lost that game, and we need a striker though.
I'm happy with it, didn't see a lot but we matched them in the bit I did see. Plenty of energy and pressing which is what you're looking for. Don't watch Italian football these days but I'm guessing from the team sheets that they put out more of a first team than we did.
I don't think there is any shame in that performance, Jay Matete, Elliot Embleton, Jack Diamond and Danny Batth pick of the crop for me. Leon Dajaku and Jack Clarke had decent games
At work so haven't seen it and can't comment however, it's all about fitness, fitness and fitness. Nothing more.
Jack Diamond is such a frustrating player, he would do something really good and then just give the ball away. There is a lot of raw potential in the lad but he needs to work on his decision making
Nothing wrong with that and was an enjoyable watch, Embo was class and I think we missed him when he went off, sadly I don't think diamond will make it here and probably needs to move on. Clarke had his moments and done well in spaces and would've been better had the ref told Jose to take that defender off when he lashed out at him, A good all round team performance against top European opponents. More Fitness and understanding of what the manager wants
We were the better team in the first half. It wasn't until we started making subs and bringing 2 young inexperienced players on that we conceded the 2 goals
We looked good 1st half - not sure how seriously Roma were taking it, but we looked good going forward. Backup/Competition for Ross Stewart is essential
You are right he is very frustrating and his decision making is awful at times but I reckon Alex Neil will either fix him or shift him,
Diamond looked like the pressure of putting in a good performance to convince Neil to keep him effected him too much. He looked very nervy in possession to me, ill wait and see how he does next pre season game before judging him properly, but going from today i dont think he has a future with us. We already have Gooch, Roberts, Clarke and Dajaku that can play in his position.
