Sanchez is having a mare. Should’ve conceded a pen and dived into that tackle recklessly, wouldn’t be surprised if he’s booked once play stops.
Not a bad equaliser, gets in between Dier and Sanchez to hit a good header. Pre-season or not, Sanchez has been absolutely awful.
Been a good half for the team that. The K-League XI look up for it and with them being in the middle of their season they’re fit enough to push us too. Probably a full set of changes at half time, I wonder if we’ll see Perisic who is apparently on the bench.
The good: Richarlison - nice touches and linkup, should’ve scored late on though. Gil - worked hard, very silky player, played the one-two with Dier for the goal. Would prefer to see him at LW though. Skipp - easy to forget how good this lad is. Just has a bit of everything. Romero - typically aggressive to the ball. Dier’s goal. The bad: Poor defensive positioning to concede the equaliser. A number of crosses and final passes not being good enough. The ugly: Sanchez - just horrendous, all over the place, should’ve conceded a penalty. Sess - hit one good cross, other than that very poor.
It’s a good reminder that Lucas on the left just doesn’t work. I don’t know what it is but his positioning on that side just goes to pot. As ever with Lucas, he’s such a confusing player - he should be so, so much better, with everything in his locker.
Richarlison was just what I expected. He works hard and you know he's there, but he dives and his finishing isn't good.
Lacks the brain in my opinion. Done some nice things this half but he doesn’t have the footballing intellect that players like Kane and Son have. If he did, he’d be a guaranteed starter here.
From what I can see of the second half: Tanganga on for Romero Lucas now at RWB Kane on for Gil Son on for Emerson Hojbjerg and Sarr on for Bentancur and Skipp. Doherty on for Sess. Richarlison, Dier, Sanchez and Austin remain on. Edit: Lloris on for Austin. Missed that.
