Not a huge amount. Seri and Traore's wages are unknown so would probably take spending beyond what we're getting up front for KLP, but I wouldn't say we're pushing the boat out too far as things stand. What happens over the rest of the window remains to be seen, but considering we were dreaming of a 10m striker coming here and we've ended up with two free signings, you would think if a chunk of the KLP money was being reinvested, we would be seeing spending of close to 20m on fees + wages. Baz saying we've already been spending based on KLP going suggests we won't see a huge amount more splashed about. Which I'm fine with IF it's reinvested in the Academy and training ground.
Wilks just has sell on value, although I’d keep him around for continuity as he’s a big personality, Scott just doesn’t seem or sound arsed just happy to collect his wage every week.
Estupinan might be a free but he's scored goals at a higher level than Muriqi ever has. He's also younger too. He's an unbelievable transfer and pretty much the best striker we've been linked with this summer. If we'd have paid £10m for him, I'd have still said it's a good deal.
We didnt spend big money on transfer fees under Duffen and Brown, or even early days Allams, but we did pay decent wages. You think Seri, Figuereido, Tufan come cheap?
The way he’s played since his big move. He is still young yes but he just has never impressed me on the pitch to show to me there’s a player in there somewhere.
Don't disagree. But I don't think his sign-on fee + wage is remotely near what we were supposedly budgeting for our marquee signing. Which should mean there is money to be invested elsewhere beyond what we've received for KLP.
Tetteh seems to be much more well rounded albeit less potent in front of goal. Whereas Estupinan is a killer and very direct. Will make interesting competition
He'll be on close to £40k a week though, surely? Where would you spend the KLP money? I don't think it's an easy call.
As I said though, something seemed to click late last season, he was performing a lot better on loan. I don't think it's fair to write him off without giving him a look to see if something's now clicked. You don't throw away a 1m asset on a whim.
I would be a bit worried if we were paying anyone close to that. It's how sustainable spending becomes unsustainable very quickly. Our accounts will make for interesting reading.
I agree, as I doubt many of these incomings are coming on contracts that aren’t 5 figures. Although that is the average these days. Fans need to buy in too as Tan said in the interview otherwise investmeny will soon slow down and we’ll plateau. His next big test will be who we bring in if Shota fails. Will show how successful this ownership will be imo.
Tetteh seems pretty good too. He's massive, quick yet good with his feet We'll have to pay him a packet as he's a player in demand but hopefully it isn't that high. I think you can do it as a one off, I'd rather pay him that then put Swift on over £30k like West Brom have done
