    But I can't imagine a result decades before you were born fills you with as much joy as I felt the day we beat you 5 - 1. After weeks and weeks of Mackems telling us how **** we were and how we were going to get battered, to absolutely cane Sunderland the way we did made it one of the greatest games I've ever watched. Not the greatest, but certainly one of them.

    Yeah, it means something that it happened, but its nothing compared to watching it for yourself. We last won the FA Cup in 1955, and while I'm proud that's part of the club's history, I can't feel much more about it because it happened before my parents were even born. There'll be Mackems on here who saw Rowell hit a hat trick at SJP who probably know what I'm talking about.

    1-9 is a quality scoreline and a great piece of history for Sunderland. I bet the memories of that mauling are dancing through your hea- oh wait. Pity all you have is those two numbers to grin over whenever the memory of Mignolet looking over his shoulder in despair 5 times gets too much for you! ;)
