Being impressive in training doesn't equate to being impressed in a game as we have found out all too often sadly
That's true I think most of us agree LB is looking like our weak spot, Firpo really doesn't have a great injury record and it's a gamble with Davis or Hjelde if he's out for a while, especially as we won't be seeing Dallas for half the season at least.
We should get news on Shackelton going to Milwall today and should start to see other moves away for our cast offs…
Hope Shackleton goes out. He has been a solid squad player for years now. He's 22 and needs to go and get a season of full games under his belt for his sake. Hope he smashes it and earns himself a permanent move somewhere where he is first choice. I know many fans aren't too keen on Roberts but I hope he succeeds on loan too and earns a move away.
Been hearing versions of this since 10pm last night, where the headline is deal agreed? Barcelona agreement on Raphinha transfer reached And now, late on Sunday evening, the two clubs have reportedly come to an agreement over the Raphinha transfer. Multiple reports in Spain, as well as CBS Sports in America and the Daily Mail all claim Barcelona and Leeds are in agreement. They have agreed to pay Leeds a downpayment of £55m, with a further £8m in add-ons and bonuses. That will take the 25-year-old’s total sale to £63m – a deal the Whites are finally happy to accept. Staying behind to train alone at Leeds’ Thorp Arch training base while the rest of the squad travelled to Australia, the player is now due to arrive in Catalonia later on Monday to finalise the deal. He has already agreed personal terms worth around £101,000 a week (€120,000 a week) and on a deal to 2027. Chelsea’s offer to the player was worth an estimated £120,000 a week – but the player only ever wanted Barcelona. Reports in Spain believe he will take a medical later on Monday. And , if all goes to plan, Raphinha could be presented as a Barcelona player before the end of the week.
The NewsNow sites are all quoting the same source, The Daily Mail so it might seem like various versions when in fact it’s the same one. Sky are claiming the deal is ready to collapse, Barcelona have other priorities now that Dembele has signed a new contract. It’s just a mess and I hope we stand firm on this one, Deco and Raphinha have been utter ****ers
The down payment is the key bit. As they may not be around for the rest and it obviously really helps with our cash flow. sounds a world away from their previous offer… so wonder how accurate it is.
I'll put my neck on the line on this one. Barcelona can't afford that deal as it is being reported. I'm calling bullshit. There is no way they will place a £55 million down-payment. They don't have it. Rubbish.
Reading Fabrizio Romano latest tweet from only 6 mins ago, its different from the CBS report. €72m is actually only £61m and Romano says thats with everything included. Nothing on payment spread or timetable. I reckon we have something like a £53m + bonuses totalling £61m
Have to agree with the above two comments (Milky and Emu), weird as Romano is never wrong, interesting that he quotes “Raphinha” feels
2 best journalists in the game Romano and Ben Jacobs both have the story with the fee being slightly different. Phil Hay headline now in the Athletic below with basically the same story lifted from Jacobs and Romano. This will probably happen now Raphinha: Leeds and Barcelona edging closer to deal for Brazil international
we likely won't be told how much is being paid up front as basically, were only fans and its really none of our business. Hope this doesn't turn out to be another JKA debacle in two years
Like I say, the down-payment is bollocks. We'll be lucky if we get 10mill this summer. Suppose they will write off Firpo payment.
with firpo's mysterious injury maybe it's a double deal. 50 mill for raph or 40 mill for raph + firpo? payable on the never never... literally in this case
