.... although his concern about a lack of class is probably more about his club than any other. http://footballblog.co.uk/npower-championship-high-entertainment-class.html
Interesting article but omits any mention of Saints v MU in the cup last year. One thing I think many of us learned during our spell in L1 is that life can be just as entertaining and gripping as in the Premier League. There are lot of decent clubs and teams in the lower leagues who go out and do the business for their supporters week in week out without the silly money that Sky pumps into football................long may they continue. Even Pompey.
He would like someone just to test us and not let us roll all over them? hmmmmmmm maybe just maybe teams haven't done that and maybe just maybe Southampton football club are a class above everyone else in this division, just a thought.Makes me laugh, nearly every team we have beaten this season have been poor, according to the supporters or manager of the club we beat,14 teams have been poor against us this season, not bad, hope it continues!
The author of that piece says that, despite being a Pompey fan, he has nothing against Saints but the jealousy, thinly-veiled, is there for all to see. The saying 'Damned by faint praise' springs to mind.
Don't agree with the article at all - if the author actually bothered to watch us, they would see that we are a cut above the rest in terms of quality on the field. We're top of the league because we are so damned good, not because all other 23 teams are poor. We are the fittest, most organised, most prepared, most focused side in the division - the league table clealy demonstrates this. I urge the author to take a trip to St Marys on a Saturday afternoon and see exactly what I am talking about. Then maybe, just maybe, they'll think twice before writing such nonsense.
Women talking drivel again! Now I know why you've got the second highest number of posts on the championship board
The football world (including Skate Claridge) is just waking up to the facts that we have known for some time now, that we are a club on the way up and we haven't reached 'our level' yet. We have already beaten the best in this league and arguably outplayed Manure in the cup last year.
A good article from "the other side" and one probably shared by many who have not been following the Adkins evolution which has quietly picked up pace over the last 12 months We finished last season with a fantastic run to pip Huddersfield to promotion (their brilliant run has continued too despite the loss of a number of their top players), we played some excellent football along the way and over the close season we have added a small number of quality players to give us a squad of strength & depth. With this enhanced aquad the team appears to have had an excellent pre season (unlike last years effort!) and hit the floor runnning with very few serious injuries which all leads to a happy tight knit squad In the Championship the opposition give you a bit more time, don't try and kick the opposition off the park, don't look at Saints as a major scalp (until now) and the pitches are far better quality A surprise? No not really - quality management from NC down!
