Great bit of convoluted logic, 10 out of 10. Seems the world is divided into "sitters" and "standers"; and we only meet on forums and match days. As with Atheists and Religious nuts best to let the world go round and hope there is a meeting of minds some day. Admit I always liked standing in the BP South stand or Kempton, but conform for the good of the majority now and the ones who would miss the game because of the standers. Just couldn't stand up in front of a family and rob them of their day out. All this reminds me a bit of the Monty Python sketch in the amphitheatre, can't remember the lines but all factions want the same thing but are hostile towards each other...hilarious.
i still feel that the majority who travel away are standers, but most are too polite to deprive a young family as you say. maybe the wishes of the majority should be acknowledged in some way rather than this silly argument: "I paid for a seat therefore I sit in it". Peterboro was a good example of how when given the choice, even though many had paid a premium for the 'pleasure' of sitting, most voted with their feet and stood in the thu'pennies in the same way some seem to think they have a right to sit cos they have paid for it, i have also paid and therefore choose to fart, belch, puke and moan as I wish
Actually, due to health problems I nowadays can't stand up for the whole game. I therefore go in West Stand Upper where I am surrounded by people who contribute nothing to the atmosphere. I used to go in East Stand but as my condition worsened didn't want to spend my time by being a sanctimonious individual like yourself and others by telling everyone to sit down around me as I'd rather have been stood up and getting behind the team like them. The trouble is there are people down the East side who really are best sand types. Most grounds have all the types who want to stand together behind the goal. Because of the Kempton we have people who think the area for standing, cheering types is not behind the goal but down the side mixed with the sorts who would be happier with a thermos and a rug. After 48 years I don't need the likes of you telling me who is a fan. You won't have been there in the days when we often couldn't even fill one bus. You can't be much of a fan if you consider remaining seated at all times is the way to support the club. Your kids don't sound hard if they can't stand for a while. What do you do on a packed bus, tell OAPs to stand up so your kids can sit down? I, like many others, was stood on a packed, swaying Bunkers at their age and didn't need my Daddy to help me out. Seriously, this problem will not be solved until the club decide to reissue season tickets and state that one area will be for those wishing to get behind the club in a vociferous, lively manner. Cardiff have done so but with Humberside Police and the likes of Cooper added to the fact we are a council owned ground, with their jobsworth types I can't see it happening here.
You are obviously incapable of reading or understanding other people posts. Also you seem to think your opinion matters more than anyone elses. Other people have rights. If they buy a ticket for a seat, they have a right to sit in that seat and watch the game, you don't seem to be capable of grasping that simple fact, are you special needs? Lets try an experiment. Next time you are in the West Stand, which is full of people WHO DO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CLUB , BY THE WAY, which is more important than your idea of atmosphere, stand up and obscure the person behinds view. When the steward comes along tell him/her they are sanctimonious for telling you to sit down. The result will suit everyone, even you who will no longer have to suffer your match-day experience being ruined. As I have said in previous threads, what you wish the club to do with regrd to issuing two types of seat tickets, will never happen under existing regulations as THE CLUB WOULD BE BRAKING HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS. It aint gunna happen. Ridiculous as H&S is it is there, that is a fact and it has the full force of the law behind it. After 48 years I don't need the likes of you telling me who is a fan. Oh dear, hope this is my last post on this (not holding my breath). Think the difference between peoples "rights" is that If you stand you deprive the people behind of seeing the match. They can only hear the singing. If you sit down YOU can still see the match and can sing. Please don't reply...
oh dear i replied. if you are forced to sit, you have to sit extremely uncomfortably for more than 90 minutes as the the seating is generally inadequate at grounds. next you ll be telling me that people should be allowed to smoke in pubs?
Damn, sussed!! Actually my old man who was born in 1922 and still remembers being passed over peoples heads as a kid at Anlaby Road just so he could see the game (Oh! How times have changed from these Chavs!!). He still goes to the odd game and sits for the whole 90 mins!

Running out of argument but:- Bottom line is (not a pun) "It's the Health and Safety Law which tells the club we have to sit, so it's not legal for the club to allow the crowd to stand". OK, so who cares about the law, lets drive through red lights (and teach our kids to do the same) lets rob post offices, or lets just pick the things we don't like and ignore society/community, "I've bought my ticket so I can do whatever I want" ("and teach my kids to do the same").
