I’m really hopeful we get Delap, I know he’s only really played a level below, but he looks the part completely. I’m excited to see what happens over the coming weeks, especially now Shields has been confirmed in his role…love the idea of having a team of FM wonderkids
KWP is so important to us. Didn't the club say they were looking to build the team around him, JWP and Tino not long ago?
He was the one striker I wanted Saints to bring in, But I'm feeling greedy now.. If we could bring in Broja too for £20Million also that would be very good business.
If we did sell KWP it would have to be for a fee I doubt Everton could reasonably afford. His ability and versatility are tremendous and he’s made a really fluid adjustment to changes in role and tactics. He’s such an intelligent player. He consistently plays to his brief, no matter what side he operates on. I think he’s actually been better since moving to the left side. I’m not sure where the rebuild ends in terms of incomings. It would be surprising if everything was completed this window. I think we may see one more in at #10 and a striker to replace AB but then after that we’re probably only adding to replace any we’re able to sell. Obvious candidates there are: Djenepo, Lycano, A. Armstrong, Bednarek, Walcott and Valery. I don’t think we’ll shift all of them (could see Val retained to provide RB cover). I would be surprised if any others are sold but you never know what other teams are out there looking for a bit of red and white-clad magic to sprinkle into their squad.
My only ‘worry’ with Broja was that when the chips were down, so was he. We need people to get us out of the ruts we find ourselves in and for some reason he seemed to wallow in it. Were we in a rut because he wasn’t firing? Maybe. Though to be fair to him, no one else seemed to be able to lift us either
Selling our best and most consistant player last season would send out the wrong message and not make any sense especially as Tino will still be injured this season. As others have said he adds another dimension to our attack as well as being defensively sound and we would be back to square one as regards to the fullback positions.
We’ve been sending that message for quite a while then? As always with a team like Saints if the money is right then any player will go. The question is what the magic number is and whether Everton would pay that. There are also other factors such as if KWP would really push for the move which we don’t know
I can't see Everton being able to afford KWP even if he wanted to go. He's 25, has 3 years on his contract and is in the form of his life. TransferMarkt have him at £19.8m and that's a low figure. If Neco Williams is worth £17m then we'd be demanding £30m at the very least
Ooohhhh…that’s a really interesting one. I would actually take that deal if we were offered around £18-20m (that proposed Leeds loan was rumoured to have an option at £20m). I think it would give us budget and space to get a creative replacement.
Forest have just signed Williams for more than double what he is really worth. So you have imagine we’d be looking at minimum 20m for Che Adams if not more even though he does only have two years left on his contract The contract situation might be another consideration. He might want more than we think he is worth or not be keen on extending
