It's an odd situation, but stands out as it isn't common in our team to have a perpetual loanee. However Chelsea have several teams of them, some of whom have been with that club for years. How many careers have they destroyed with their stockpiling? Perhaps the new ownership will look differently at that practice?

Looks like Jack Clarke is off to Sunderland on a permanent deal.

 

Loan to either after a contract extension would be my preference.
He needs regular football and he's not going to get it here.

 

I think a loan would be good for his career. But I wonder if it’s better for us to keep him if Rodon is most likely to be off, as Japh can cover multiple positions in the back 3. Both badly need gametime though, Tanganga needs to show he can do a season without injuries and Rodon needs to play ahead of the WC, and it would be good for both of their development. Conte likes them both though.

 

Are they taking the piss? Just leave them the £15m bid and tell them that's going to be it.
Move on to other targets and tell them to get back to us if they change their minds.
Walker-Peters or Aarons would probably cost a similar amount and have far more experience.
