Transfer Rumours Let's ignore the big ****ing elephant and blame the latest manager, again. Are we nearly there yet?

I would normally agree with you but this is not any one guy, this is a guy that has played for him before so will know the style and won't need much teaching. It's also a position we have been desperate to get right (and i have a suspicion ETH sees de Jong as a possible captain).

Well considering he's already signed Malacia and Eriksen has agreed to join, then he clearly doesn't only want one guy.

Not sure what you're not getting to be perfectly honest?
    All very weird.

Let me explain, again. There's a player he has previously worked with who he trusts, knows his attitude and ability, and wants to make the focal point of his midfield.

Also happens to be available as Barca need to sell.
Quite why you think our manager would be saying '**** it, get me anyone' is beyond me tbh.

Last time I'm explaining it btw, you can carry own crying about nothing ad infinitum from now.

I've been watching United v Roma from April 2007 on MUTV.

7-1 I was there. North Stand, bang centre.

    Just thought I'd mention it.

I'd forgotten a couple of the players that played that night.

    Heinze for example.

    Was a complete performance.

Fairly ridiculous we didn't win it that year but then Milan were a decent side too.

Would gave been nice to annihilate Liverpool in that final though.

Yeh bit of an anti-climax the next round but we won the league back.

It was all progress though, won the league and CL the following year.

ETH has worked with many players. Besides, what is this “one player that he trusts” blah blah? Give it a rest, guys?!!

Yeah, I bet we will end up getting the player. But I personally would have loved us to say F U to Barca six weeks ago and get ourself another player.

De Jong is a wonderful player. But there are absolutely no guarantees in this equation and it’s more about creating a system which a plan B player should be able to fit into.

I disdain fixations in the transfer market and we have done that sht for a decade. This is what effectively made agents so brazen. Because foolish policies by clubs like United.

Yeah, course it was. I'd been to the league Cup final v Wigan season before, could see that was an important step on the road to more proper success.

And all under the shadow of the Abramovich 'we'll never win anything again, ever' era.

Not a bad manager we had in those days.

Imagine if Chelsea ends up getting De Jong? Where would that leave us?

I don't think they can, they really do need to sell.

If he goes to Chelsea then so be it, he won't have bought into anything Ten Hag wants to do and is just jumping on a champions league team. Whatever.

It may well be we then repace Chelsea in the champions league the following season and then what does he do?

FWIW, Chelsea need centre haves and a striker, not a deep lying centre midfielder, so I suspect it's all just bollocks generated by Barca themselves.

As I said yesterday, what will be will be. If we don't sign de Jong we use what we have in the squad. That's the plan B.

Chelsea are in discussions with Barca because they are selling players. I suspect the rumours about the Chavs and de Jong are simply to unnerve us and force us to pay more - a reasonable tactic given that Barca are desperate to sign Lewandowski so need our cash on the hurry up..

We should pull out of that deal. Barcelona are a scum club and there are no other takers out there except to keep the player. Let them go figure it out.
I would love to see a player like Garner, and other youths ascend. That would have been my Plan A until January to assess if it is working, or at least ascending in terms of prospects for long term.
