think it’ll be similar numbers worse. Haaland has more experience and city will prob focus their goals through him now they’ve lost Jesus and sterling. Can’t see Grealish getting sterling numbers so really only leaves Haaland, mahrez, kdb as double digitscorers. He’s also likely to take pens. we on other hand have plenty options up top, and will prob share it around between diaz Salah Jota Nunez for scoring. If Nunez can get 20 prem goals from 38 games will take that as a success
Haaland is a goal a game guy in **** leagues but has a big injury question mark. The numbers that he had going for him is goal a game in the cl too, no real ig sides scored against though. Nunez is a breakout player, hes stepping up from moving to europe and has one big season. The hype overall over haaland has been carefully managed to get the huge deal and agent fee, now he has to deliver, all the attributes are there but he isnt that quick imo still lol. The injuries are the thing to watch. Nunez imomis more flexible player but will suit us very well.
All I can base my assessment on is their performances against us. When we played Dortmund, Haaland was pretty much anonymous. When we played Benfica, Nunez was rampant and scored several goals. Obviously that isn't an indication of how things will go in the PL, merely an observation. Maybe Nunez is a better big game player?
I love an optimist. I wondered why we didn't go for Haaland when we went for Minamino. I can't remember the contract situations. Obviously Taki didn't make his way into the starting lineup too often but I also wonder whether Klopp just didn't rate Haaland or think he would fit.
Think most expect Haaland to be better. Bigger demand on him though and the level of success is different for each imo
it was when we had mane, Bobby and Salah firing on all cylinders - he wanted guaranteed first team football if I recall
We didn't cos he and his agent already had his set plans and had no interest in going somewhere he might flop or not get thr massive pay off. His "team" have worked this release clause and move to drtmund on a pretty good wage with the big move in mind. He had zero interest in working for success. He's now for 400k plus at City with assured medals for turning up and his agent and fsther have massive money form Qatar squirreled away. Remember he is 21 with dodgy injury record but a stellar scoring record is two poor leagues. He's been touted round as the most amazing talent ever for 4 years now. Yet it was mbappe or bust for real.... think on that. Big tall lad, a proper goals scorer. Doesn't suit guardian's style one iota. We will see how city reform this season with the no 9 guardian never wanted. After all it only took pep 3 years to get rid of aguero despite trying every year to push him out. Aguero was just too good to ignore.
That might be his only problem at City, the guy is an out and out striker who uses his strength and speed to great effect when operating in the final third. The potential problem (as i see it) is that City tend to pin teams back and create most goals/opportunities from inside a crowded penalty area which could close him or his style out.
