Good Morning. It's Wednesday 6th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Salzburg not ruling out Camera sale

According to the Daily Express, Leeds are unlikely to continue their pursuit of Mohamed Camara once the signing of Tyler Adams is completed. Messrs Marsh and Orta had turned their attention to the Malian International after being told that RB Leipzig were reluctant to do business with them following the Jean-Kevin Augustin farce.

Fortunately, Victor Orta had still maintained a good working relationship with the Leipzig hierarchy, and persuaded them to change their minds. Adams, although the cheaper option, was Jesse Marsch's preferred option. Mohamed Camera will now return to Salzburg's training ground to resume pre-season.

Salzburg's Sporting Director Christoph Freund has not ruled out a move totally, claiming:- “Mo still has a three-year contract with us, so it’s also possible that he’ll continue to play in Salzburg. I can’t predict if Leeds are also willing to buy him out of his contract, but in football, a lot can happen very quickly.”

Orta to miss Australian tour as spending spree set to continue

Leeds Utd's Director of Football Victor Orta has vowed to remain in England whilst Jesse Marsch and Co prepare to jet off to Australia, to begin his first pre-season tour with the Whites. Orta has clocked up an impressive amount of air miles so far this Summer, and with six signings under his belt (assuming Adams and Sinnisttera join), and more expected, his mind remains focused on recruitment.

One area of the pitch in dire need of strengthening, is in attack. Orta remains resolute in bringing Belgium sensation Charles De Ketelaere to Elland Road. The 21yo has many admirers though, with Serie A Champions AC Milan leading the race. If Leeds are to stand a chance, they need to raise funds by selling Raphinha, but his preferred option, Barcelona, continue to drag their heels.

According to Phil Hay:- "Financing a De Ketelaere bid would require money raised by selling Raphinha and that situation is at a standstill. Chelsea are ready to pay an up-front fee of around £60 million for the Brazil winger, with add-ons worth more than £5 million, and Leeds have indicated to the ownership at Stamford Bridge they would accept that offer but Raphinha is resisting Chelsea’s approaches in the hope Barcelona, his preferred destination, will stump up the cash."

"Barcelona have failed to meet his valuation and are finding Leeds unreceptive to offers of payments in instalments. Chelsea are happy to transfer the guaranteed fee in one tranche. It is, at this stage, the one process which might drag on and Orta’s intention to remain in England while Marsch and his squad go on tour is aimed at bringing Leeds’ remaining work to a conclusion."

Shackleton and Roberts set to exit on loan this week

Jamie Shackleton and Tyler Roberts are set to miss Leeds pre-season tour of Australia as they prepare to depart on loan later this week. The duo have never been able to fully establish themselves as first team regulars, and it is hoped that regular football every week will help in their will development.

Three Champions clubs are vying for Shackleton's services, with Reading being his likely destination, whilst QPR and Hull City are battling over Roberts. Charlie Cresswell has already departed, penning a season long loan with Bermondsey's finest (Millwall).

    Leeds prepared for Blackpool test

Leeds kick-off their pre-season tomorrow night against Championship outfit Blackpool at the LNER Community Stadium. York City's ground was chosen as both clubs have recently had their pitches overhauled. The game starts at 7pm, and apparently, there are still a few tickets left.

A number of new faces are expected to make their Leeds Utd debut's, along with several younger players on the fringe of the first team squad.

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

good luck to CDK if he thinks he will be better iff at AC Milan as he tries to get game time ahead of new striker Divok Origi, Giroud Inzaghi, Zlatan, Mandzukic and Hamadi. Also Milan are €10m behind the Leeds bid.

Only the striker role to fill in an exceptionally good transfer window and it seems its between Special K and Kalimuendo, which is good news

Can’t see us getting Camera after all the money we’ve spent. I think once we’ve got a striker we’ll go get an experience GK if there’s one about and that’ll be it.

Orta is certainly earning his money this summer and he’s done well to get targets in early, let’s hope they all hit the ground running.

Good that the younger players are getting loans. Hopefully they’ll be win win and either perform so well they come back pushing for a starting position or they do well so we can sell for a decent fee. Worst case is they don’t do well and we realise they aren’t up to PL standard.

Blackpool are charging £4.99 to watch this game tomorrow if you look at their latest Twitter post.

Will be interesting to see how well we can manage our injuries this season. Whatever the cause last year, we don't need anything remotely near that again

    Morning all...

So Camara is a no go then. Hopefully the Austrian Press can shut up about it now.

If we sign CDK does that make him a replacement for Roberts and Shackleton and does this mean we're still in for another Striker? If so then who?

So I'm assuming we're in for another 2 more players.

Glad to get the Pre-Season friendlies under way. It will show us if this season's team is actually better than last season.

If Raphinha goes you may see 2 players coming in. If Raphinha stays you will only see a new striker and right now its between CDK who spent most of last season as No9 as well as 7,11,10 scoring 18 and plenty of assists. Or Arnaud Kalimuendo from PSG

If he hopefully comes in, his stats look impressive from last season, what role if any will Rodrigo will have at the club. Looks like a bit of an expensive luxury to me

Rodrigo will be more of a squad player imo and when you’re in the PL you need to get used to having 10-30m players on the bench or you’re going to struggle.

But Rapha doesn't want Chelsea so can't see any way of forcing him to go there. I suspect well be forced to accept the staged payments from Barca eventually

Barca are offering us less than Chelsea as their bid was euros and Chelseas was pounds. Also Chelsea was £60m all up front with another £5m as add ons totalling £65m. They offered €50m in staged payments with another €10m in add ons totalling £51.5m so £13.5m short :emoticon-0148-yes:

Honestly I think both Raph and Barca need to realise the boat has set sail and it's not going to happen.

Supposedly Barca have tried to pull off this installment BS with Bayern and been to go do one.

    Morning everyone

I think it's time to move on from CKD if it's true that he really doesn't want to come. As with the Gakpo / Sinisterra situation, I suspect we already have an alternative going under the radar.

If we keep Raphinha for a while longer then that will be just as good as a new signing in the short term. The trouble is when he does eventually go for cheaper the money lost will be the equivalent of missing out on a signing.

Aren’t Barca also prepared to write off the €9m we still owe them for that world class LB we got from them?
