But he did try to become leader of the Opposition; twice. He ran in 2010 when Gordon Brown stood down but got eliminated in the second round and Ed Miliband became leader. When Miliband went in 2015, he stood again. The trouble was that the hard Left did not think that he was far enough out there so they went with Comrade Corbyn. He was the preferred choice of the likes of former leader Neil Kinnock, former Home Secretary David Blunkett and former Deputy Prime Minister Two Jags Prescott; so what chance did he have? So he quit Parliament in the 2017 General Election and went to become the first Mayor of Greater Manchester. He got re-elected with two thirds of the vote but only a third of the voters bothered to turn out.

Yes he did. If the word had got out that he had been issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice the media would be clamouring for him to resign – as he said he would. So instead he has silenced the media while he tries to worm his way out of it. Everyone knows that he is as guilty as sin. So is the Ginger Growler.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. Governments change, but the people running the Country remain the same. It sounds like there's going to be a few posters finally seeing the result of their prayers being answered, and their deluded fantasy version of posters should finally pop as reality starts to surface that it's **** all to do with 'winning' and none of us are tories. The spin machine will be in overdrive.
To be honest, I only said Gove because he was the only other one I could think of. I just wanted to sound clever by saying "he who weilds the knife never wears the crown" and I'm not even sure I got that saying 100% correct!
