I know theres been a thread somewhere on here before but I couldnt find it. I didnt have a season ticket till today.

I got this offer through my uncle and im as happy as hell. Paid £207 for the gallowgate end.

My grandad goes and so does my uncle and now ofc I am too. This is quality cause I get to spend time with my family, gan to the match and have a jolly good time.

I was just thinking though three things:

1.) Has anyone else took up this offer for their mates/family?
2.) Is anyone who had a ticket already slightly aggrieved by the offer. Theres 14 homes games left so works out as £14.78 a match.
3.) On point 2 and the fact that any money going into the club as a result of the offer goes towards the club coffers so in effect is a good thing.... right?

I think Badger was slightly aggrieved at the reduction after he'd paid for his ST.

My view was that it was better to sell as many as possible and have cash in the bank rather than have empty seats.

Bums on seats, blah blah. Fact is, regardless if it's friends or family, there are some who can't use the deal and many I don't know are getting 14 games for half the price of what I paid for 19.

But I'm not getting into that again.

I paid something like £550 for my ticket (Gallowgate, to the right of the goal) as I refused the new 10 year ****... That's about £250 more than I used to pay when I was in the Leazes corner, which I first bought into in our championship year... Now I'm hearing you can get season tickets around there for £100 or less in certain areas...

Further to this, the club has seemingly got a policy of ripping up your "loyalty points" as all mine disappeared when I didn't hand in renewal forms, despite the fact I later got a ticket for myself and my girlfriend...

Anyone get the feeling Mike may be looking to sell now and is just draining every bit of profit he can while the going is good?

Still, you can't be angry at people taking up the bargain... I don't walk around PC world screaming at customers because they get a printer with their shiny new laptops for £500 these days, when a couple of years ago they peddled me a glorified type-writer for £600... And similarly I won't harrass Gaddafi for receiving a free sodomising, when I have to buy my girlfriend a bloody season ticket for even consideration of the matter...

Surely they're fleecing your most loyal fans whilst giving a better deal to more fair weather fans?

I got annoyed when we had memberships being sold at a cutprice before our CL games against Madrid and Milan. This gave someone who only just became a member as much chance as me of getting a ticket. As a result when tickets went onsale we had 50,000 fans online trying to get less than 15,000 tickets and I who had nearly 400 Loyalty points, missed out.

Unfortunately our respective clubs need to be run as businesses and if that helps us sign players like VDV/Ben Arfa then we have to learn to accept it. With regards to the season tickets though, the club really should give ST holders that paid full price an extra cup game or something to atleast acknowledge that it's incredibly harsh on you.

I'm a season ticket holder in the East and paid just under £600 on the ten year price freeze which meant I saved money on last year to start with. Last week I signed up a mate to this deal, just waiting on his ticket to arrive. No issues from me at all, unless it happens year on year in which case no bugger will sign up to proper season tickets...

I hugely agree with you, but we never get home cup games anyway...

I am concerned now my ticket wont arrive before the Everton game.

Ive been to every game so far this season and just paid for the matched ive been to because I couldnt commit to a full season (At the time) or I would have just bought a full season ticket. Circumstances have changed and I can now go every week so its a good deal for me. But I could understand why people would be annoyed.

Theres an old saying though aint there....... You pay your money and take your choice.

Don't panic about the ticket, they should've given you a reference number so you can collect one at the box office at worst case. The mate I've bought one is a teacher and was out of work at the start of the season, so he's delighted the option came up as he was going to buy a half season ticket at Christmas anyway. I think I'd be more annoyed if it was open to everyone, but as a friends and family incentive I can't begrudge him a cheaper ticket at all, plus I think its guaranteed me a few pre-match burgers...

I am dreading my phone bill arriving though, he has offered to pay any excess, box office is ****.

It also means getting away game tickets is going to become a lot harder for members. Games hardly go to members sale as it is, so if the club don't start accepting larger allocations I can see this massive new influx of season ticket holders rendering memberships pretty ****ing pointless.

It was "young adult/student" prices in the young person seating area. It was a ridiculously low price like, and someone told me they got one for around £50/60, which I couldn't believe... I am a young adult/student, so that's my comparison.

If tickets had of been that low I would have definitely given-up better seats, even if I am afraid of heights!

I'm not so sure the extra season ticket holders will make much difference, I'd assume most are younger family members or people too skint to get a season ticket in the first place so unlikely to be away travellers. I do agree that membership looks pointless though with the ludicrously small allocations we're taking.

Yeah, you're probably right to be honest. I was just over-reacting, it's been frustrating not being able to buy tickets to games that I had no problem getting last season.

I'd suggest some kind of member loyalty point system after the season ticket sale ends also, I'm sure other clubs have several tiers of loyalty periods. I've built up a pretty big stack of worthless points that only season ticket holders have any use for, so I'm not really rewarded for my "loyalty" when up against other members trying to buy tickets.
