I'd certainly hope we would be in pole position out of all the Championship clubs. There were a few moans about him prior to the play-offs but I'd say he generally knows he's well liked here, he's familiar with the club and the manager and has mates in the team. So if he is available I would suspect the only barrier would be if one of the other clubs make a ridiculous offer.
Like to think we'd get Jack if we can afford him. Can't see him going to Cardiff if all else is equalish, but Sheff Utd is a possibility. He's a Yorkshire lad so you never know
It would be a no for me - the best he would be IMHO would be a back up/ utility forward player. Age 31 and starting to naturally slow down. I didn't think he actually set the place on fire last time and will have lost some pace. I get the argument about experience being injected into the squad but we have been burned by so many journeymen before it would make me very nervous.
Seems the way the club are doing things now. Not much is coming out until it is near enough a done deal
Often transfers seem like a row of dominios that get knocked over. In that there are often 'key stone' transfers, that when enacted lead to others.
Mannone yes, Borini no. The nomadic nature of his career says it all. He never became what he might have. I will always adore him for that absolute rocket v the Mags mind. Nearly shot in me kegs.
Fair point but given the fee City paid for Grealish last year and his lack of starts/ game time over the course of the season then Phillips has potentially already had his card marked.
