I know I'm reading too much into it but KP says MB was the best manager he's ever come across and then says that JM is a great guy. It says to me that he doesn't think JM is as good as MB. Am I wrong?
Probably. MB took Kalvin, changed position, built a team around him, got him promoted to PL and made him an England regular. Kalvin was largely injured under Jesse and only spent 2 or 3 months under him. He's obviously not going to compare to MB as far as Kalvins career has gone. It's probably more critical of the likes of Monk, Christianson and Heckingbottom as they got no mention at all. The fact he mentioned Jesse at all could be seen as a positive.
Mike if it is a loan its all to do with getting a higher transfer price mate. We would be expected to pay a £5m loan fee and then a purchase with a fixed price at the end of the season. In effect the are getting at least a £5m premium on his value and Leeds benefit by not paying for him until next season
well he says JM is a great manager and even better guy... but yeh after he's said bielsa was the best it does read like a back handed compliment to marsch. Or it might be another way of saying Bielsa wasn't a great guy draw your own conclusions!
So rather then who is coming in, are we now in a 'who keeps their first team place' discussion? A number of the new names will be expecting to go straight into the first team. It'll be a bumpy ride for the opening part of the season though unless they gel straight away. On a positive note, it looks like we may have the potential for more goals from the midfield (and hopefully people for the wingers to play in to), which is where we fell down last season.
