Out of all the terrible sports journalists out there, he is near the very bottom of the barrel. I think in his head he is Fabrizio Romano but in reality he is bit of a joke.
There’s a few of these. Now, call me old fashioned, but I kinda hope it’s not him, or something. Not sure I’d be replying like that to fans straight off…
The account only had 2 posts, the first of whoch was in May. Although it is followed by a number of city youth plauers so could be legit. If it is him then he is is pretty relaxed about social media. He joked with one fan not to get too carried away as he could be sacked by christmas I dont really care what he does on socials so long as he can spot a good player!
If this is true I'm really disappointed we weren't in for him. He's pretty much a clone of Romeu and he's about 10 years younger. Would have been perfect for Ralph's system. 10-12 million is a really good price for him.
I think Leeds will go down next season. I am not convinced Jess Marsch will last the season and expect him to be the latest in a list of Americans who fail in English football. I appreciate that he has tried really hard to grasp the culture at Leeds and that something radical was required after Bielsa had failed to learn that doing the same thing each time and losing was not effective. The loss of their two best players will be a difficult hole to plug. They were poor enough last season with them and just think that even with Bamford at full fitness, they will not see out the third season at this level. The race I always find fascinating is who will be the first manager to be sacked and how quickly it will happen. It is always surprising that clubs never really grasp whether a manager is good enough during the close season and them wait until September before pressing the panic button. Marsch would be my favourite to get the chop first - I also think that Ralph is unlikely to be in charge the other side of the World Cup.
They seem to be exclusively signing players from RB clubs - understandable but if Marsch does go might cause a problem
Spending a ****heap of money doesn't guarantee success. Phillips and Raphinha are leaving two massive holes in their line up. Jury is still out on them as far as I'm concerned.
Damn. I love me some Sinisterra...thought he had played his way above the level of ourselves and Leeds, but I guess he slowed down a bit over the course of the year. Silly, silly fun; don't know how well it will translate to the PL, but a risk I'd have loved to make.
That's unfortunate...he'd have been my top target for an attacking flair player were I running Saints. Even if he doesn't dominate, he'll sure as hell make things interesting.
Looks like the Phillips to Man City and Jesus to Arsenal are both finally done. Wonder if they just asked Arsenal to pay Leeds and cut out the middle man (city) as both deals were £45m.
He was our main target. The fact he is joining Leeds means they are offering him massive wages. If we weren't paying Theo 75k....
Or same wages, Leeds would surely be more attractive to a player with no connection to either Saints or Leeds
That's rubbish, a player doesn't care whether Leeds were decent 40 years ago. Only thing that's relevant is the wages.
But he might care about living in bigger city, a bigger fan base who travel everywhere and a bigger “name” club I haven’t seen what the fee is supposedly going to be as well. He may be way more than we would bid now they have the Raphinha/Phillips money
Alternatively a player might care more about being able to live pretty much within an hour of London if he wanted I don’t think he is going to have researched the Leeds fanbase. In fact I am confident he hasn’t and I don’t think many players do. You can tell this because of the comments some make about our fanbase when they join. ABK being a recent one. Some of his comments made me think “you really don’t know anything about the Saints fanbase do you?”. And that is ok
