Well said milky Let's face it if Roberts could put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis he'd be a very decent player. Then again there's been plenty of PL players over the years with a woeful scoring record but are still appreciated for the job they do for the team. If he does move on and succeed it would be genuinely nice to see.
Think it’s a case of “don’t shoot the messenger”. The Tyler Adams thing seems to be gaining traction but from journos you’d consider reliable Camara is apparently done? Can only apologise if that turns out to be BS.
We can only post what we hear mate, some of it's right some not but don't think anyone on here posts anything for the sake of it or to be thought of as itk, Adams seems to be attracting attention from elsewhere, I did hear only 3 more, so if it's Camara, other defo a striker, it leaves just one more, which could be Adams on loan, but was told it was either or with Camara/ Adams, CDK is thought to be the third but a move for him to Leicester seems to be on the cards. Lets not forget the Traore, not the **** Wolves one, link too
Well Milky and Jammy sorry to upset you, but I tend to lose patience with someone who has played 51 games for us in the Championship and 51 games for us in the prem and done absolutely fk all. He has been given more time and chances than anyone in the history of the club 102 games and all the talk about him being a striker is bollox as his stats clearly show. He has never scored goals even as a kid and in the WBA academy. Never scored goals out on loan. And when I compare him to academy strikers who really do score lots and lots of goals, compare stats with Joffy or Greenwood, or Nketiah, Fernandez, they are showing a goal every other game or better, Roberts record is almost zero atthat level. So please get real. We dont have time to fk about waiting. The shirt is too heavy for him, simple as that and the longer he remains the angrier fans will get. Its not just me there are thousands of us, maybe not on this board but even fans like you too have now lost patience. The number of guys on here who slag off Firpo for being crap and then tell me to be patient about Roberts 4 and a half years on
They’re now saying it’s a done deal for Adams at €15. I’m shutting the **** up until they’re holding the shirt aloft
Wonder how many starts Robert's had had out of those 102 games Doc and then how many consecutive starts. Probably time for a parting of the ways though and hopefully for a nice profit. If so that would at least cover some of those wages you consider he's stolen. Final thing from me on Tyler is that when we were closing in on promotion there was that period where he and Pablo would play half the game each and whether you consider Robert's contibution worthy or not we did go on to win the League.
The guy who claims to be in the know at Salzburg ‘leaked’ camara on Friday. He doesn’t actually seem to be in the know about Salzburg, more has an ‘in’ with their players from mali… where they recruit heavily. It would be a surprise if we took Adams and camara. Though I’d be quite happy if we thought there was room. Seems more likely we’re been keeping options open.
From the YEP That’s according to the Yorkshire Evening Post who claim he’s set to seal a loan move away this week with both Hull City and QPR interested in securing his services for a year. Time to go A loan move will not really hurt any party involved but surely this is the summer where Leeds look to ship Roberts on permanently? The Welshman has struggled for form and was presented with a wonderful opportunity to stake his claim last term in the absence of Patrick Bamford who spent large portions of the campaign on the treatment table. Roberts couldn’t take his chance, scoring just twice in 27 outings across all competitions. He also only assisted one goal from a multitude of attacking roles. His form the previous campaign under Marcelo Bielsa wasn’t very profitable either with Roberts finding the net just once in senior football. With that in mind, it’s hardly a surprise that he once left the Argentine coach rather livid with his performances. As Leeds miraculously beat Manchester City in April 2021, Bielsa was left visibly frustrated by Roberts. In just the seventh minute, Bielsa called Marcos Abad to the touchline so he could translate his instructions and then in the tenth minute, the club’s former manager slapped his knees in anger as Fernandinho ghosted past Roberts who was stood there like a statue. Marsch has yet to really see the best of him either and on the evidence of the past two seasons, it doesn’t feel like the Wales international is cut out for Premier League life with Gabby Agbonlahor previously describing him as “shocking.” Consequently, they should be looking to sell the player this summer, not merely loan him out to the Championship.
I've got no time for Roberts for some of the reasons mentioned on here. His career has always been in his own hands, so why has he not asked to go out on loan or sold if it wasn't working out for him? I think I might be right in thinking that most professional players would have done that a long time ago. He was bought when we were in the Championship as a promising young striker, but in fairness, he just didn't set the heather alight. I won't malign him any more as it's not his fault that he's not as good as we expect him to be. He needs to move on & stand on his own 2 feet. Now much-maligned, as he has been throughout most of his career, however, you have to look at the managers who have put him on the pitch. They're not ignorant dummies - they clearly see something in him in the PL & at international level. And in my own generous moments, I've appreciated his link play, effort & availability. But sadly, for a CF, we're more interested in goals & to a lesser extent, assists from a CF. He's not provided either on a regular basis, so either his excruciating stats demand he leaves, or considers using his recognisable skills in a different position - and no, that doesn't mean #10!! He's deffo a conundrum, but there is absolutely no value in Leeds retaining him. Time to go, son. For your own good.
Roberts and Shackleton aren't good enough for this level. They won't get a run of starts here. It's best for everyone that they go off and play games elsewhere.
