Today we have racing from Plumpton, Kempton Park and Wolverhapmton with the Irish enjoying Wexford. Great shout yesterday from ROTO, you are deffo back with the winners mate
Nass: Weird Al looked very good in the Charlie Hall, owner has done well to move him to Donald McCain. Could well be a contender this season now
Morning, all. Nothing for me today and therefore the 'no bet' banner is being waved. Given that today is old Halloween though I wonder how many ‘tips’ on here today will be ‘tricks’ and how many ‘treats’?!? Yet more money this morn, by the way, for Camelot in both the 2,000 Guineas and Derby.
Nass: Agreed with that, Donald McCain will love having him and IMO the horse can only improve. Ian Williams did a gran job but is not in the top 30 NH trainers so there must be a good chance that IF Donald can sort out Weird Al's problems or 'head' if that's where the problem lies, this horse could be a nice one. Goes on any ground but is better with cut so Saturdays performance was very good, shame Diamond Harry did not turn up though.
"Robin Hood, what a crook! Gave away, what he took. Charity's fine, subscribe to mine. Get out and pick-a-pocket or two" Brief but to the point from Willie 14:45 Wex
Can those who finished behind the first two in the Charlie Hall, be written off as serious contenders for the rest of the season?
Gaz, Somersby will surely be too short today for any of that business? Cyc, always allow one bad run, especially Poq who didn't stay.
I would definitely write off Poquelin for the Gold Cup. I didn't give him a chance in the Charlie Hall and I don't give him a chance in the Gold Cup; way above his station imo. The only 2 that might shake up Long Run are Time for Rupert and Diamond Harry. All you have to do now is see what else is running.
Pocquelin did not look that keen either but without doubt did not stay and also can almost be called a Cheltenham 'specialist' now. The rest are what they are i'd say
Poq will return to shorter trips I would expect and around his beloved Cheltenham. Diamond Harry is another frustrating horse, a talented one but is always injured or likely to be!
Morning chaps - interesting thoughts regarding Weird Al. Personally I would back Time For Rupert to beat him if they ever meet again. However nothing in that field is capable of stopping Long Run. Unless another contender emerges from somewhere I see it is a 20 lengths + victory for LR
Nass/Ron: I think it will be very interesting to see what Weird Al does next! Will they give him a rest as he obviously goes best fresh or will they give him a short break and see what happens under a different training regime?
