I can’t remember where I saw it but they had the highest net spend since covid and hadn’t sold a single player Clearly the ffp rules are based off a different period
It's just incredibly difficult to run afoul of FFP. Consider that we were hemorrhaging at a terrifying rate, to the point where insolvency was a distinct possibility within a year or two without further debt facilities, and FFP was like "go on, make your record signing by some measure".
Not to date. Prior to selling Richarlison, Everton was the one team that might've stood a chance, and that took an extraordinary effort. Guessing that the timing of his transfer will pretty well alleviate that, though; most teams run a fiscal year from July 1 - June 30, and his transfer is almost definitely booked on either the final day of FY 2022 or the first day of FY 2023, whichever helps them the most.
There is a lot to be said for signing batches from the same group. - Those clubs clearly put a lot into their scouting and youth development using close to unlimited resources - They will have been trained in the same system and style - They are likely to be friends or at least know each other well helping both team cohesion and the chance of recruiting others Man City will probably see it as a vindication of their approach as well. I doubt we’d be able to get all three of palmer, McAtee and Delap as the only one i’d expect to have even a marginal chance of permanent on is Delap, leaving just one loan slot Re: my point 3 - someone wrote somewhere that Colwill is friends with Simeu and Tino. Interesting that the other Chelsea links have gone quiet. I expect due to the changeover. I know we were strongly linked with Anjorin and there are people out there who think we are interested in Vale. The latter seems like another who is a loan at best because they have actually used him. But you never know with Chelsea
Linked with forest who have a guaranteed slot for him. Hopefully us brining in some of his teammates and will help if we do want him
So in someways a waste of time? I suppose it could be argued & say it’s keeping clubs within the limits / guidelines?
two right backs linked now, I thought we might be tempted to stick out with Valery whilst Tino was injured, but if we can get a talented player in then it’s good forward planning, because if KWP has another stellar season we might struggle to keep hold of him.
Was always a bit odd Long had 7. Lets hope we bri We were interested when he left Charlton so this would be no surprise. Looks a good player too.
