Salah's fresh terms, in excess of £350,000 a week, makes him the highest-paid player in the club's history. The three-year deal still fits into the club's sustainable wage structure and is incentivised with scoring bonuses. Decent bit of wedge, fingers crossed still has the motivation and doesn’t drop off a cliff now!

It is very important we keep Salah after Mane's departure to keep pace with Manchester City. Many clubs are willing to pay the salary we agreed to even more.
I'm ok with it only being a 3yr deal. Means we get him in the last years of his prime, then at 33 he can go off and grab that last big pay day (probably in the Middle East) Like I said before, we didn't want to get stuck paying a 35yrd old the big bucks. This way player and club get something from the deal.
Unexpected. Still not sure about it - that's a lot of money and seemingly much more than anyone else at the club, which given his reduced contribution in the last six months is a bit of a risk. But if he bangs in the goals for the next three years, or even if he just leaves for a significant fee, then I'm all for it.
