I like cresswell. We owe a lot to him actually. He’s going to be a good player, but his main contribution on the field last season was a fck up that led to the wolves player getting sent off, subsequently giving us 3 points that kept us up <laugh>

loan move to the championship is ideal for him - even with millwall… at least he’ll be busy.

not going to help with his playing out from the back but he can practise punting into row z for when he needs it occasionally in the Prem

So many good kids lost in the system, Citeh and Chelsea the worst culprits.

Rumours are doing the rounds that Camara has agreed personal terms with Leeds but Leeds don't yet have the cash for the transfer fee.

Maybe when Phillips passes his medical today?

Well until we actually sell Philips, we are in a negative £50m in transfer fees

I've just watched a Welcome to Leeds Utd video of him and I'm underwhelmed. I think he'd get caught in possession a lot in the PL as it's much faster and the quality is a lot higher.

He’s at City, it’s done. The club know we have the money.

What if KP fails his medical at Man City ?

What if Camara's club are insisting that its a full cash payment, so until we actually received that money , we can't buy from that club.

It's like selling a house, when exchange takes place on completion. Most of the time you give the keys to your house to the purchasers, before you get the keys from the sellers because there is a delay in when you receive the money from your sale, to forwarding it onwards for the purchase, even if it's only an hour or two difference.

I seem to remember a certain Dan James being a done deal back one January transfer window, he was at the club, he had passed his medical, he had signed every paper that he was allowed to sign, and yet still ended up being a Swansea player the next day

KP won’t fail the medical. I don’t think in any transfer the whole amount is paid up front. With James that was their ex chairman playing silly buggers, I can’t see Man City being that unprofessional. I honestly think the story is bull.

I'm sure Asa Harford never thought he would fail his medical test at Leeds, especially given that he went and played a further 600+ games in the top division of English football. Camara's club may need cash and similar to us in the early 2000's were looking at selling players to clubs that were prepared to pay us in full on completion, rather than accept higher offers with structured payments.

Yes I know Swansea decided to be utter ****s, but at the time most of us including people within the club would have said the deal was 99.9%complete. Things however do go wrong where that 0.1% means it doesnt get done .

I've no idea about the actual story, other than what the poster than you replied to has posted, so I fully admit I have no reason to believe or disbelieve what they said, however, I have posted three occasions in our own history when deals have not been completed, or been completed under certain circumstances just as an example as to why the story may be true.

However this is a silly thing to argue about, as is said by plenty on here every transfer window, its pointless discussing potential targets because 99% of the rumours we hear are just made up, so lets just wait and see what happens :emoticon-0148-yes:

I’m not arguing, neither am I saying the Camara transfer will or won’t happen, I just think that the being because there’s no money is bull.

Again I have no evidence for or against, I'm just being me, playing devils advocate as I do with stuff like this.

For the season just finished our share of the tv revenue money was £114m

If apparently we gave the players a £48m bonus for staying in the Premier league , that leaves £66m of that money left.

If we presume that as is usual most transfer deals have a structured payment, this is normally 1/3rd up front with the rest structured however , usually paid within 2 years.

So if we have committed to deals of £50m so far this transfer window, that means that we have paid approx. £17m up front, leaving our tv revenue money at £49m.

We will have a payment to make for Harrison, James and Firpo (less said about this the better of course), so that's about £12m, as well as probably the final payments for Koch, Llorente, Raphinha, Rodrigo, Meslier and Costa, which based on their transfer fees, would be around £26m, giving a total of £38m of fees to be paid for players we already own, not counting any bonus payments.

So that leaves us with £11m from the tv revenue monies from last season that we are left with.

Now I'm not an accountant, and I haven't bothered to look into the financials for the previous seasons to tie our outgoings and incomings together, I am just using this as an example of why despite receiving income of £100m, we may have spent it.

I am most probably wrong, but just presenting this as maybe why the club could be considered to be being pragmatic regarding further incomings.

You are also probably correct in that it has nothing to do with the club not having the finances to complete the deal, all I am doing is painting a potential picture that would give some credibility to that situation :)

Edit, miscalculation in the figures, hence why new figures are highlighted.

You mean you haven't made a note in your diary, like I did for a post Essex made on 5 August 2021 ;)

Only another 2 years to wait before I can refer back to it :D

It does make sense for the club to be patient on the new incomings, wait till the KP deal is 100% sorted.
Then gives us more leeway to play hardball with the catalan ****ers.
All of the out of contract players are now available.
Also only deals involving major money seems ro be the EPL, seems the rest of the leagues are skint.

All good stuff S usual Aski, but would add that if any potential deal worth having was on the cards and needed doing right now, Im guessing that 49ers bank would pay first tranche with the rest of the deal being structured to come from Leeds Utd and if and when Raphinha goes that deal could be structured to pay some ash to 49ers with the rest payable to Leeds? There are ways to rock and roll

I've just read that Adams is being touted as loan with option to buy. It does sound crazy considering our history but.... :)
