Since we have one fit keeper, we should be allowed an emergency loan. The question is...Who? Gomes isnt getting a game at spuds Begovic is keeping tommy out the side at stoke, Chelsea have ross turnbull, or hilario. Id go for tommy, just because hes a class act and is still loved here.
Aye just read mate, bang goes that theory then.. Harper is at Brighton, and is happy enough to sit on a bench!
SUNDERLAND will seek permission to bring in an emergency goalkeeper this week after the sickening injury Simon Mignolet sustained on Saturday. The Belgian keeper suffered a badly-broken nose in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa after a clumsy challenge from Emile Heskey. He headed off down the tunnel for treatment before having an operation to repair the damage. Black Cats boss Steve Bruce said: “It’s a bad one, not just a simple break. “We don’t quite know how bad it is just yet but I certainly would imagine him to be unavailable for the Manchester United game at least.” Without Mignolet, Sunderland’s goalkeeping resources are stretched to the limit. Keiren Westwood was an able deputy for Mignolet on Saturday and will be between the sticks at Old Trafford this weekend. But with Mignolet unavailable and Craig Gordon also still sidelined with a knee injury that has proven more troublesome than expected, Sunderland are without a keeper with any league experience to call on. Former Northern Ireland U21 goalkeeper Trevor Carson is on loan at Bury but is struggling with a back injury picked up in the warm-up to Saturday’s game at home to Stevenage. Carson had to drop out of the team and was named as a substitute. It means that Bruce’s options for a keeper to be on the bench at Old Trafford would be between youth goalkeepers, who have been nowhere near the first team. And in those circumstances, it is expected Sunderland will be allowed to enter the transfer market for an emergency loan signing. Bruce confirmed: “We may have to look for special dispensation and maybe get a loan.” The Premier League allows clubs to sign a keeper on loan in cases of genuine emergency and Sunderland’s situation clearly falls into that category. The Black Cats have experience of the system themselves, having loaned Marton Fulop to Manchester City in similar circumstances at the end of the 2009/10 campaign
Don't Manchester City owe us one seeing as we loaned Fulop a couple of seasons ago when they were in a similar situation
If we were not playing Man U i would have said Kruzsak (sp) but as we are its pojntless as he wouldnt even be able to sit on the bench at the weekend. Other than that i have no idea, but it doesnt look like Gordon will be ready, physio room had him back 22nd October and now it just keeps going day by day, so no idea whats happening with him. and we have to get a keeper from a team where they are third choice really especially as its so early in the season, we loaned Fullop to Man City but there was only 4-6 weeks left of the season.
Just use Seb Larsson. Made a cracking save in the derby. In all seriousness, is Mannone still at Arsenal? You would have to get someone's 3rd choice, and there's not a lot of teams have 3 senior keepers.
Tony Norman is a copper now. Get him to do a bit of crowd control and strip off if required. Also Monty does the half time draw every other week so he will be around. Baring that I'm struggling. Maybe ask Lionel Perez if he fancies it. God knows........
kirklands at doncaster i believe, id go for turnbull from chelsea simply because hes a northern lad and hes probably most likelly to agree to move on loan
Sunderland are considering an emergency loan move for Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak. Manager Steve Bruce has admitted the club may seek special dispensation after Simon Mignolet underwent surgery on the badly broken nose he suffered during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. Keiren Westwood came on at Villa, but Bruce is still short of keepers with Craig Gordon yet to resume training and Trevor Carson out with a back injury. Kuszczak, 29, also a target for Doncaster, is frustrated at becoming fourth choice at United behind David de Gea, Anders Lindegaard and Ben Amos. Sunderland play United on Saturday. Kuszczak had a discussion with boss Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday and is hopeful of a chance Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...sz-Kuszczak-emergency-loan.html#ixzz1cQKJotAv
