Some have suggested taking the same stance as Spurs over Kane going to Man City last season. Does anyone know how long Kane had on his contract at that time ? Is it similar to Raph now ?
Well Kane has 2 years left on his contract now, so presume it was 3 years when City put their bid in, so one more year that Raph has.
I thought Kane had signed a six year contract (with no release clause) the previous season or possibly the one before that so had at least four years to run at the time. I thought this and his age allowed Levy to take the stance he did?
Kane extended his contract for a further 6 years in June 2018, meaning that he would be a free agent from July 2024. Thus he had 3 years left on his contract (with no release clause) when City were bidding for him last season
To be fair Pre season friendlies are a complete and utter waste of money. Better using the cash and grab a few meaningful league games. Cup matches are similar. Clubs just fulfilling fixtures and sticking any old eleven on the pitch for a runaround
You’re like an encyclopaedia Lost his move though as City moved on. We could have done the same. I don’t believe that they would think that KP is so good they’d wait two years to get him on a free.
