I think fans get frustrated with his laid-back approach to playing. Sometimes, he doesn't makes runs, he doesn't track back and he gives the ball away carelessly. Other times, he produces superb passes, flicks and skills and scores great goals!

Overall, I think he's a quality player, but he doesn't half frustrate you at times - I think that adds to his charm!

I really don't have a favourite player at the moment, there are too many good players in red and white playing at the top of their game. If I were to choose Guly would be on my list for what he brings to a game. The Reading comment above sums him up. We have fans who like to whinge is the short answer!

He said he almost left Saints last year as he was finding it hard to settle down, but he also said that our fans and the people of Southampton are the best he's encountered.

He also said he loves it when we sing his name.

I'll always love Guly, especially for that goal against Blackpool.

Guly has the same unpredictability as Papa Wago, but doesn't get off-side as often!

Match day program. I thought his performance yesterday was outstanding. Match Day Program feature. Starting up front where he belongs. Scoring two goals. Man of the Match. I love this guy. He has enormous gulys ;)

Best way to some up my feelings for him - he's amazing one minute and then does something daft the next but he's definitely a favourite of mine.I also agree that people shouldn't get on his back in the stands but also have to say that alot of fans natural reaction to a mistake is to sigh or huff or get frustrated,i'm one of them but it doesn't mean that i get on his back.

Guly wont have a great game every week. Neither will Lallana , Lambert etc

The pleasing thing is that those not so "Star Names" Such as Butterfield,Chaplow, Hooiveld and Guly are all stepping into the breaches and performing.

And if one or two are having an off day, the rest of the team suck it up and get the best result they can.

We are top of the league through Class , Belief and Bloody hard work.

I am surprised that so many people think he is lazy; he may give the ball away at times but he certainly puts in a shift and away from home he does a lot of tracking back.

Some guys who sit behind me give him stick all the time so I use every possible opportunity to cheer him. It hasn't led to an argument yet. I recall a bloke who used to sit behind me at the Dell who constantly shouted out that Le God was a fat lazy bast**d and then would be up cheering and shouting his name when he scored.

Now I know I am a miserable old git but if a bloke has a red and white shirt on then he is my man and I will be loyal through thick and thin.

He can be frustrating to watch. He'll drift past three players like he's mist and then fail to make a simple lay-off. Like someone else noted, he's a lot like Papa Waigo, only with a better understanding of the offside rule.

Sometimes you need a little creative spark to break down defences and other times you need a no-nonsense player who isn't so profligate with the ball. It depends on the opposition and the state of the game. Adkins is a great manager who will use Guly (and the rest of our squad) to ensure this potential is fully utilised.

When on form, Guly is a top player.
When not on form, he is prone to giving the ball away to often

He's very inconsisent, and if he gained some consistency he would be a (more) quality player IMO

If Boro had read the Guly article in the Match Day Programme before the game, they may not have been so slack.
