Looks like Everton have finally learned common sense. @Dier Hard why don't you get on the phone to them and convince them that a permanent deal is absolutely the right way forward if they want to win trophies?
Already tried convincing Libby and some of the Saints lads a week or so ago that we call him Winkiesta round these parts. Hoping word of mouth spreads through the forums and into clubs’ emails.
Jesus actually had a surprisingly good record in Europe for City, 20 in 38 games. Don’t get me wrong I think he’s a good player and I think he’ll unfortunately do well at Arsenal - don’t know if he’s a 20 goals a season man but he’s better than what they had. But Richarlison is a more physical specimen and I’m pretty sure he’s starting at 9 for Brazil over Jesus right now. Ultimately I think both clubs got what they need here.
Looking Like Lenglet is going to happen so I did my due diligence and checked him out on you tube what a player and then read the comments ......... oh dear and watch his F ups , only time will tell to see if we have a good or duff deal
This is genuinely on Everton's official site as the front page right now: https://www.evertonfc.com/ please log in to view this image Don't mind if we do, Toffees. Don't mind if we do.
Jesus has replaced Lacazette and Aubameyang Richarlison is replacing Berwijn. Last season we would look at our bench and say 'meh', we would look at the bench of Liverpool, City, Chelsea and United and say 'wow', how have they got a £50 million player as a sub, how can we compete? Now we can.
Time will tell. He was by all accounts very good at Seville, it could be that the turmoil at Barca and playing a higher line hasn’t suited him. A bit deeper and with a strong midfield in front of him, we might see more of his strengths. Jury is definitely out though. At least it’s only a loan.
It may not have passed your attention, but it seems we have received far more than our fair share of critcism for our players diving even when (1) they haven't dived and/or (2) other teams have contained serial divers and never received half the criticism. How do you think this attention will be now we have signed an actual diver?
Never cared before what the media and pundits say about us, won’t change after Richarlison’s signing either. I know that we’re gonna become the most hated team in the Prem though, and that fills me with a lot of joy.
Jesus is coming from a team full of very talented players to a team where he is the talented one. Exactly the opposite for Richarlison
That’s the point many gooners are missing. Richarlison is coming in as a squad player. Jesus is coming in as the main man and tbh there isn’t much difference in talent between them.
Spurs need a third attacker who : 1. can score at least 15 PL goals per season 2. step up in the starting XI if Kane or Son get injured My belief is that of the two, Gabriel Jesus would be the likelier. However, as with Pep the false messiah I believe Conte is too dogmatic to ever be capable of given such a player sufficient PL starting XI slots (with Kane or Son being on the bench) .
I think the argument is, that the 3rd one is already here and it’s Kulu. Double digit goals and assists isn’t out of the question if his first half-season is anything to go by. I’d argue that in an absolute Best XI we have goals and assists across the front 3 now, which we haven’t had for a while. What we need though is depth, which is what Richarlison is. I think he can probably get to mid-double digits if the worst happened and we lost Kane or Son in the opening weeks with a long term injury. And unlike Kulu or even Son he can play as a 9 in Conte’s system, because he is physical enough. The other thing that the likes of Ali Gold are saying a lot is that Conte wants people out of the mentality of there being a First XI and then everyone else. Of course we all probably have a strongest XI in mind that we’d want to start the opener but once we’re in the thick of it, with the amount of games we have and 5 subs, so many players will be getting minutes. We won’t be able to rotate so much for Europe and Conte will want to put strong teams out for the cups. I’m expecting a lot of rotation this season now Conte will have the squad to do it.
