I think he needs another season with us for his own good, but I wonder if his head's been turned by the big money being talked about. At the end of the day if he really wants to be away he should go, we don't need a disgruntled first choice player in the squad. On the other hand is he really that good? And has he got what it takes to kick on? Maybe he's thinking that too so he's looking to make a quick few bob while he can.
For £16m, hell, even £10m we could buy what would probably be the best winger in the Championship, so I wouldn't be worried about whether we could replace him. These players aren't going to be with us forever, at some point they will leave and that sort of money for a player that's only had one Championship season is pretty good. Do we stick and hope he has an even better one, chancing that he doesn't pick up a horrible injury or has a mediocre to crap season, or do we bank the money and reinvest it? Will Brentford survive this season or will they go down? Tough choice for Tan and Acun that.
