£45m plus add-ons. He'll do well there but they still lack a focal point to lead the attack. And with expenditure already over £100m and more incomings on the way, they really are putting every egg in Arteta's basket. Financial reports from last year make it clear that they are already lagging behind us; CL revenue will only widen that gap further.
The exhaust on my car went that day and so low was our stock, that we were even money to beat Bolton at home. The winnings I got from backing us at evens, more than paid for my new exhaust.
Alasdair Gold mentioned something interesting about Richarlison: due to Everton's FFP issues, they need to sell by the financial end of the season on June 30th to have their books look less like Rishi Sunak's toddler scribbled on them in crayon More interestingly, though, he also indicated that Moshiri is considering selling up, with a couple of potential bidders waiting in the wings
No way they sell him. He looks a real prospect and he hasn't hit anywhere near top value yet. Makes Richarlison look like an amateur in the diving stakes, too. Edit: Having had a little think about it, I believe that I may have sussed this out. Selling Richarlison will be very poorly received by Evertonians. What would be worse? Selling Richarlison and Gordon. Sending this out there and then only selling the Brazilian will be treated as a victory.
Yes I'd be shocked if they sold Gordon he really is their prized asset. Would be great for us if it happened though. Very talented kid and homegrown. Would he ( if he signed) be a replacement for Lucas or as a RWB? As it stands I think RWB is the only position he would guarantee to start in our first team. He ain't getting in ahead of Kulu.
Not keen on Gordon. Not seen anything too amazing from him. He’s their own Andros Townsend (well, even if they do also have our Andros Townsend too). We’d just be better off investing minutes in Gil, who has a considerably higher ceiling I’d say.
Think he's a top drawer young player mate. Hope this deal happens but still be shocked if Everton part with him.
Seems to be one that mainly linked just because he’s counted as home grown. I don’t really see much of Everton bar motd and vs Spurs but can’t say he’s one that particularly excites me. Evertonians rate him though so maybe he’s worth a punt.
He's done little more than what Townsend first done when he broke through here. I don't think he pulled up any trees, a few nice runs down the wing in an awful Everton side probably made him look better than he is. We'd probably have to pay over £30m for him too, just don't see him being anywhere near worth that sort of outlay.
I think they rate him because 95% of their team is pure horse **** and he was someone not completely terrible, lol. Home grown hero too, you'll always get a bit of extra love for that.
I have a feeling Everton's financial problems are much, much worse than the little that has been leaked publicly. They've been operating at a loss for years now, have an unsustainable wage bill and blew huge amounts in transfer fees and severance packages over the years. They've also sunk untold millions into their new stadium project and if rumours are true and Moshiri is looking to sell barely 2 months after his public statement committing to the club and the stadium build, chances are he has clocked that their debt is unsustainable versus projected revenue, and he wants out before the ship sinks. They don't have a huge global fanbase, haven't had European money for years and don't win trophies. The surest path to long term growth and development for a club like that is the buy-low-develop-sell-high model that is tried and trusted, but they haven't done that either. The last player they sold for big money was Lukaku to United 5 years ago. The year before that they sold Stones to City. Since then, they haven't shifted a single player for more than £27m - while regularly spending much more than that on incomings. It's a huge problem and just another indicator of how abysmally the club has been run since Moshiri took over.
News coming from some supposed reliable Everton ITK that Everton haven't received any offer from Spurs for Gordon and would never entertain a bid. Tbh I couldn't see Everton letting Gordon go anyway, I did want him he's a very good young player. One thing is for sure though Everton have got to find £75m+ by the end of this week due to FFP. Still think we will get Richarlison.
Aye, reckon they're ****ed. I admire how they've attacked the market in recent years but they've had more misses than Lacazette. It's caught up with them big time and now they're in a pickle because of it. I'm hoping we can dump some players on them to avoid paying too much for Richarlison but I have a feeling they'll want straight cash to help with FFP. They'll also do all they can to get a loan with option/ obligation for Winks too to avoid paying anything too substantial this summer.
True, have Spurs ever had a proper scouser? Maybe I’m missing an obvious one but I can’t think of any
