big fan of his. The dangerous word "Bully" was used when he tried to explain that a draw at home wasn't good enough and if the young players were happy about it then they'll struggle to make it. Great servant than will be remembered.

A while ago I think mate. Automatic trigger I think. I would be quite excited to see if he can progress, has a lot of raw potential.

Sunderland A.F.C. to fight PSV and Schalke for defender as Cats handed boost in Daniel Iversen pursuit

Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Sheffield United are all interested in signing Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.

That’s according to a report in the Daily Mail,
please log in to view this image
which states that the trio are interested in the ex-Carlisle United defender.

The 19-year-old England youth international also enjoyed a loan spell with Blackburn Rovers during the second half of the 2020-21 season, making ten appearances for the Championship club before returning to Everton. The young defender has managed 13 Premier League appearances for the Toffees, scoring one goal.

Reports state that Everton will allow Branthwaite to go out on loan in the coming campaign, with Championship clubs Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and Sunderland interested.

Sunderland could also face competition from Europe with Holland’s PSV Eindhoven and German club Schalke also said to be keen on Branthwaite.

    Preston eye second goalkeeper signing

After signing goalkeeper Freddie Woodman from murderous scumbags, Skunk United, Preston North End are closing in on a deal for David Cornell, the 31-year-old reportedly being set to undergo a medical ahead of a two-year deal.

That move could further boost Sunderland’s chances of landing Leicester City goalkeeper Daniel Iversen. The 24-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan in the Championship at Preston, where he won the club’s player of the season award last campaign.

Sunderland and North East rivals, Middlesbrough have also been credited with an interest in the former Denmark youth international.

Preston signing a second goalkeeper could well boost Sunderland’s chances of landing Iversen.

I don't see how Preston looking at another keeper boosts our chances of Iversen. Preston have publicly said that they had no chance of signing him which is why they went for Woodman.

The Branthwaite link is an interesting one though. I think he has huge potential. Signing him on loan, bringing back Wright and then bringing in Sanderson or Ballard permanently would be our central defence sorted and massively improved.

I feel a bit for Diamond. He seems to always find someone in front of him and thus gets loaned out. I would quite like him to stay and push first half of the seasom, there is definitely a player in there. Maybe with 5 subs he could be one who gets a chance and takes it.

If our recruitment is indeed data driven, then it’s easy to see why he’s possibly been identified.

You are probably right mate. I am a always wanting the home grown lads to shine, but maybe he will fall just a little short.

I hope we're both wrong if he does sign, but I agree with this.

I watched the mini documentary on Jordan Henderson earlier and something he said struck a chord with me about the way he approaches his career. He said "Sunderland is full of honest and hard working people. You go to work during the week and work as hard as you can and then on a weekend you enjoy your football."

There's a hundred stories about Henderson not being the most talented footballer of his age group, but there's not one about him being anything less than the best trainer and most professional. Now he's captain of one of football's great institutions, he's won the highest honours and he's respected by all of his peers. Ravel Morrison is the antithesis of Henderson. Jordan Henderson turns up 4 games out of 5. Hard work and professionalism turn up 4 games out of 5.

Maybe Morrison has changed and if he signs, then he'll get a clean slate with me to prove himself. He had all the talent in the world but he didn't graft. he didn't turn up every day for his teammates. I have respect for people who make the best of their lot. I have less respect for those who coast.

I don't think it is easy to see. XG, Goals, and Shots all amounted to 4 goals over a season. It's not exactly impressive. A lot of the other selected stats show a very attack minded play who does little defensive work. To me, I don't see a player who can play central midfield, I see a player who is fighting for a place against Embleton and Pritchard. That's possibly the last position we need someone in.

Aye the last part of the season, before Christmas he was a waste. Last five or six games, standout.

Low on progressive passes, passes to final 3rd, and accurate passes to final 3rd too. Might suggest he's not that effective.
