Two good bands but the Wild One even with Brando and Marvin is firmly average. Mutiny on the Bounty and One Eyed Jacks for me as far as Brando is concerned.
Agreed, but Allen's the kind of heedtheball who puts decent people off. Poor posh rich girl making her mouth go on subjects she knows nothing about.
I've never doubted his incredible talent and songwriting with John Lennon. His solo stuff and Wings doesn't come close though imo. And, for me, the old Beatles songs performed at the time, 'Can't buy me love' were absolutely perfect performed by them all in the 60's.
It's the Emma Thompson syndrome for me. 'I've just flown back from LA for this climate change march through London ... ... and while I'm here where's the harm in a bit of shopping and lunch with Stephen Fry'.
It’s strange some times music is linked to a certain time, I actually loved the album Band on the run mainly for the memories of holidaying with our lass when we were 20 in Cornwall
One of my bad choices in life, of which there were many, was in 1963 turning down a free ticket to see the Beatles , said I would go next time. Never came along.
I was about 17 in 1973 and a year into travelling to matches from Mansfield ... ... I gave my Cup Final ticket to my old Uncle Mervyn cos I thought it'd be a regular thing
One of the bug bears I have with my older sister ( 6years ) she used to go out every weekend to see bands like the Beatles, Stones, Who and Hendrix and it meant nothing to her because they were just bands touring, not really famous then, bitch!
Aye noticed that “I’ll get in trouble for that” Genuinely looks about 10 years older than me now, he’s 3 month younger
I was offered a ticket from an Everton player, couldn’t afford it. It took me another 6 visits before I saw the lads win at Wembley. The highs and lows of a football fan.
I left the Locarno Ballroom in Sunderland just as Bowie was coming on for what some that were there, described as the best live performance they had seen. And they had seen a lot come and go , some great venues in the NE for live music in those days.
Saw Bowie live once, great gig. In 1965 I took a lass to Top of the Pops which went out live then from and old church hall in Manchester, she went home with drummer of Manfred Mann, that’s a proper example of a bitch.
.My late mother was a fan of Englebert Humperdinck. She went to see him at the Adelphi in Slough in the 60s and Jimi Hendrix was on same bill!! Felt sorry for her cause I couldn't stand anything of Hendrix ilk
Aye its painful her voice like Anyone know why BBC have not promoted or showed any of Arcadia and the dance sets late at night? Carl Cox was on Friday and Camelphat last night. Not everyone's cup of tea but why have an entire area not shown or promoted? Bit harsh on all the DJs
