Instead of branding, could we get some decent players, please? And a manager who has some vision?

First pre-season training photos are online. Pictured are:

    McGovern, Gunn, 2 youth keepers
    Zimmerman, Gibson, Byram, Omobamidele, Mumba,
    McLean, Dowell, Cantwell, PLM, Sorensen
    Hugill, Sargent, Idah

Players I don't recognise wearing 31 (McCallum?), 41 (Abu Kamara) and 42 (Liam Gibbs I think?).

Didn't spot Hayden (I thought he was meant to be ready for all of pre-season?), Josh Martin probably a somewhat unexplained absentee?

Giannoulis, Tzolis, Pukki, Aarons, Sinani, Hernandez,Rashica all on international duty.
Placheta may be on international duty, was an unused sub once in the Nations League.

Could be that Smith wants to bring in his own team

Why is that "concerning"? It would be, perhaps, if our academy had proved to be outstandingly successful during Wright's tenure, but has it? A lot of money has been put into creating first-class facilities, but the production line of academy talent doesn't seem to have kept pace.

Fair point, I think we could class Springett and Rowe as being his successes and maybe Omobamidele.

Bit early to be counting our chickens yet in relation to Springett & Rowe. Yes promising, but we're a long way from them being a success.

Yes I would agree actually, I was thinking more as examples that have been brought into the first team, I shouldn’t have used ‘successes’.

I’ve changed my mind, Dean Wright has finally left, looking forward to seeing who comes in to replace him! <cheers>

I'd noticed the lack of Josh Martin in pre-season media, this explains why:

Presumably if he's with the U23s he's not likely to be in the senior squad this season.

Interesting, he must be out of the clubs plans. Not sure why else they wouldn’t have him with the squad like Springett, Rowe and Kamara appear to be

Or maybe not... here's the image the club posted:
please log in to view this image

Highlighted is "Not a kit launch", even more cryptically is the not-highlighted is "Just Not Her"

I'm expecting this to be all marketing rubbish, and it's not "a kit launch", it's multiple. Or some kind of "launching a new era" type stuff.

And where is Pierre? Did either Farke or Smith work out his best role in the team last season?

Yes I noticed this, not sure what to make of it, although not long until we find out whether we get the kit or not.

Perhaps the suprised will be that we are keeping last years kits for another year?
