It's No 2 on the list of best ice cream parlours in Wales: https://www.visitwales.com/things-do/food-and-drink/food-producers/welsh-ice-cream Apparently Wales is the best place to eat ice cream outside Italy, if you like eating ice cream in the rain and cold of course.
Lots of Italian cafes in the 70's I remember the big steam coffee machines and dark interiors. Loved the places and the Italian ice cream and sweet cream coffees.
Discovered Affogato a few years ago and its my go to pudding now - just an expresso poured over a scoop of vanilla ice cream but the bitter coffee taste goes really well with sweet ice cream.
I actually love them, because the ones my misses buys are a kind of raspberry ripple type thing. Not keen on the bubblegum after a few seconds of chewing and doesn’t bring back fond memories as a kid of blowing huge bubbles that covered your face.
Dunno, it's just a bit meh! Reminds me of Walls ice cream just nothing special. There's a good place in Brecon. Llanfaes Dairy Ice Cream.
Nah, see my post about the Italians coming here in the 70's Not many left now, the Bracci Brothers were the most famous. Well the 70's is just my memory it was much earlier. https://nation.cymru/culture/the-story-of-the-bracchi-when-the-italians-arrived-in-wales/
It's only bcos of the quality of dairy/cream from there. Didn't know that about Bracchi/Wales tbh. Interesting.
I don't care about the health stuff, I just prefer the mango & lime flavour ones. All the decent ice-creams been mentioned anyway.
Anyway for all my white bredren I’ve got an Asian ice cream you need to try if you already haven’t done so From left to right Malai(kind of a clotted cream) Rose Pistachio Coconut Mango Malai n pistachio my fave tell em @Treble
Walls produce these for the local market here. Durian ice creams are really nice - amazingly creamy. please log in to view this image
