Football Italia are saying with are now chasing Hamed Traore. but we are facing competition from AC Milan
Difference being Ward Prowse has a contract until 2026 so Southampton are in the driving seat whereas this is our last window to be in the driving seat unless we sell in Jan as it’s not looking like they’re going to sign new contracts so if we were to keep both until Jan or 2023 they’d basically both be going for half price which isn’t great considering they’re are biggest assets.
Yep I get that but staying in this division is worth 150 million a season. At what point do we let them go for nowt? They've cost a total of around 20 million (plus wages). Even if we let them run down the contracts we are massively in the black on them. If we sell both and get 100 million and then go down it would be a travesty. A financial disaster.
Both good points that I agree with. It might be that they are thinking if they get 100m now and with this they can sign 4-5 new players which they may see as being better than running the contracts down and getting nothing. This could backfire as you could sell and go down however if you improve the squad to get to the next level and this finances itself then the upside risk is massive.
Just read there that Leif Davies impressed JM in training on his return from Bournemouth. Not sure if it's true or simply his agent putting some speculation out there, but if I'm honest, I'd rather play him instead of Firpo. At least he'd sweat blood for us. Firpo has failed to do so, even once. If he was going to improve, he'd have improved by now. But he hasn't, has he? I have no doubt in my mind that 2 Leeds managers will have given him a shirrakin for his habit of sauntering back & leaving his defending duties to others. Yet he persists .....
Leif Davis was very unlucky last season at Bournemouth. They signed a young lad for their 23's Jordan Zemura from Charlton after they gave him a trial. They brought in Davis with a view to a permanent transfer the year after as they were struggling on FFP. Davis had a couple of niggles after impressing early doors and Zemura was given a chance. He turned out to be the best left back in the division. The management, fans and club as a whole really liked Davis and it was reported on an almost weekly basis that he had been incredibly unlucky to not be selected.
I'll never forgive Firpo for not sprinting back against scum at home. He did it twice and lost us the game. It's bad in any game but unforgivable against them. He can get the **** out of the club as far as I'm concerned. A lack of effort is not acceptable.
I see we’re linked with Christian Eriksen now… After a flurry of activity, does anyone else get the feeling that future transfers are reliant on who goes out? It seems like we have 3 possibly 4 irons in the fire, how many we make a move for depends on who departs, no departures and we’re looking at the freebie or lesser option
I think we have the money to spend but wage bill might be creeping up a bit quick. Makes sense to offload a few to keep on top of that.
We have money to spend on a striker and lets face it having a striker as well as the other 3 lads puts us in a much better place than last season. yes if anyone goes they will be replaced
Lots of movement on this story now from various sources. We apparently offered £25m and got knocked back and a new offer of £32m gone in for Otavio?
Not happy with getting Gyabi if I'm being honest. He's in their U23 squad. So I'm guessing he's for the academy
