They nationalised or part nationalised most of the major banks. They were then sold back to the private sector during the Tory years. I’ve no idea whether the taxpayer got their money back in full. I’m sure the figures are out there though.

That was according to Philip Hammond, the Tory chancellor.
Also that recoup only includes the bailout for Lloyds. And doesn’t take into account the £3.6bn paid to bail them out initially, as most of the recoup was in dividends.
It also doesn’t take into account the ‘multi billion pound losses’ from RBS.
I’m also not sure if the money was ever recouped from Northern Rock
