I think this comment puts this argument to bed.

Basically our scouts got it horrifically wrong about Joelinton.

@Rumsfield himself is saying that they are in the know more than we are.

But at the very same time @Rumsfield got it right that he was a quality dm when our own scouts couldn’t see.

That’s the circle of life isn’t it.

 

Tell you what considering this thread started on the 1st of ****ing June I think we can safely say it wasn't almost done

I would again like to advise you that they know better than us regardless of whether they seem to get things wrong on occasion.

I would also present a case that Joelinton was being misused and could yet come good in a more attacking role in the right side with the correct system.

His finish vs Norwich and one or 2 others demonstrated that he can kick the ball and head it into the goal

 

One of those scouts recommended we buy Shelvey. I'll leave that here for you.

 

But who else was on the list given to Charnley? There lies the crux of this

Nobody else bigger wanted shelvey and Newcastle didn't want to pay for the other options..

Things are no longer the same and now they get the players higher up the list much more often.

It doesn't matter anyway they didn't get the players they would really have pushed for. They were all under huge restrictions that no longer exist.

Now they'll get to demonstrate their true worth and I'm sure they're delighted

 

Only watched the first 2 minutes or so and for a striker in a show reel it seemed to lack goals. Call me old fashioned but the main job of a striker is to score goals.
