Sorry to puncture the joke but it's the RMT members that are striking and 96% of train drivers are in ASLEF with the other 4% mostly non union.

I was reading today about a train guard on £30,000 a year and he can’t live on it, I used to be a coach bus driver and even now they best paid driver is on £25,000. These are drivers that have got more responsibility than “guards” and if we think about have more to do then train drivers that are on £50/60 thousand a year. The joke is right they’re greedy bastards especially the guards who have no responsibility other than collecting money and giving out tickets

MPs were awarded 2.7℅ this year, though you could easily argue they should have got sod all.

Also, MPs cash comes direct from the state, the railway workers ' does not. It goes on the price of a ticket in the end. My mate and his brother both work on the railways, and they can tell some amazing stories about how little they do, how much walking time they get, how many max the sick deal out and do on. It sounds like a seventies relic when they talk about it.

I wasn’t really concerned about the drivers I was thinking more of the low paid workers getting a s hit rise when the top bids are raking it in.

Aye. But most on the railways are on a canny deal. On top if that they get pensions which are extremely generous by today's standards and are offered redundancy terms so good they are queuing up to accept them.

    They are badly led IMO.
