Lee Barnard could be fit enough for the bench. Frazer Richardson could also return after not being included in the 16 man squad Vs Middlesbrough, although he'll find it hard to get in ahead of the impressive Danny Butterfield. Peterborough: Lee Tomlin will still be suspended after being sent off against Leeds. Ryan Taylor could well continue in the side in place of Tomlin. Last result: Saints: 3-0 WIN Vs Middlesborough (Home) Peterborough: 3-2 LOSS Vs Watford (Away) Predicted Saints team: ------------------------------------Davis------------------------------------------ --Butterfield----------------Fonte----------Hooiveld------------------------Fox---- ---------------------------Hammond----------Cork-------------------------------- ----Chaplow-------------------------------------------------------------Lallana--- ------------------------------------Guly------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------Lambert---------------------------------------- Subs: Bart, Martin, De Ridder, Schneiderlin, Connolly. Prediction: 2-0 Saints. It won't be quite as easy as many make out I think but we should do enough to win if we build from the back and if the players aren't complacent. Their defending is atrocious at times, and hopefully we exploit that. Lallana & Guly to score. COYR!
That is a great starting line up. The subs bench aint bad either. oooooooooooohhhhhhhh what times, amazing.com
Hopefully Chaplow will put in another horrendous dive like last year at their place. And the ref won't give a 92nd minute penalty to them that will later go into a FA referee training video of incorrectly awarded handballs (true).
Hope Guly has recovered by Tuesday as I hear he was taken off with an injury on Saturday. Be good to start with same team again. 2.0 to Saints.
I was really gutted last year when we drew 4-4 away with Posh. It was harder to take than the long away loss to Tranmere Rovers. Thinking this could be similar to the home game last year, 3-1 to Saints!
I love playing Posh for the simple reason that the final score can be almost anything - although at home, I'm pretty darn confident that it wont involve us losing. As I said on another thread, I've put money on us winning 5-2. But it could be 1-0. It could be 6-1. It could be 4-4. It's the fun of (anyone) playing Posh. Not sure what Nigel will do for this one, but I've got a feeling that he might stick with the same team again (but possibly with Richardson returning at RB). Although I think he would usually rest a player or two, something tells me that he'll want to replicate that brilliant performance against Boro and keep those same players out there - plus, there'll only be Coventry away left before the international break.
The question is did NA play Butts because of his ability to hit a Middlesborough weak spot with the long slung cross? Would Richardson (if fit) be better suited against the spoilers of Peterborough, who would you chose? Tough being a manager isn't it?
How do we become spoilers we always give goals away only hope that we score more than you But not holding out much hope so will be a 0.0 well i can but dream
I went to the away game at London Road last year and can honestly say I was emotionally drained after that 4-4 draw - a complete seesaw of emotion For that I hope we thrash them especially to see Fergie Jnr's miserable face when Chappers smacks in number 5 and runs over to share his delight with his fantastic ex boss!
Hopefully, we'll go there and smash them - especially after idiot Ferguson's comments last season. Aswell as Portsmouth and Brighton, this is a fixture I really want us to get a good result from. In the words of Kevin Keegan; 'I would love it if we beat them, love it!'
