Diaz still needs to improve his end product, but hopefully this will come as he gets used to the league and gets a proper pre-season. Nunez is as yet untested in the league and the team. So hopefully yes, they will replace him, but they need to hit the ground running. As you say, Mane's injury record Was very good, and while his Form varied, he was still fairly consistent with his output. And he is a big game player.
if we seriously look at mane and rip him to bits. 21/22 23 goals 5 assist (16 goals in league) 20/21 16 goals 9 assists (bad year for us all so no criticism imo) 19/20 22 goals 12 assists 18/19 26 goals 5 assists 17/18 20 goals 9 assists so thats over 30 goals involvements per year in 3 out of 5 years
luis Diaz stats: 21/22 22 goals and 11 assists. Just cos he got his move in jan doesn't mean we get to ignore his prior form. 20/21 11 goals 6 assists 19/20 15 goals 7 assists before that he's in south america We have to see that comparing a player like mane who's peaked and is at the elite club feeding him chances and exploiting his talents is not the same as looking at a player in development who's just grabbing his chance. go back to roughly same age. mane in 16/17 13 goals and 6 assists for us. 15/16 11 goals and 7 assists for southampton. We need to give diaz his chance and time. we had the same debate out of people about torres who had i think. He'd only scored 20 goals once in 5 years for atletico as a very young player and people said he wouldn't do it and bang, 33 goals first season. I'm very confident that diaz attitude and work suits klopp down to the gorund and he will improve and take his chance. same as nunez. people calling him raw etc. he's a powerful runner and could suit us very well but we also have jota and firmino so people writing off players a lot already. They'll all contribute.
In case it came across that way, i'm not writing Diaz or Nunez off. At this stage we're more hoping they step up rather than it being a foregone conclusion, that's all. What was the split in Diaz's stats between us and Portugal (out of interest)?
to be fair, it was Klopp who said that he was a but raw and that we would need to be patient Nothing lasts forever, especially if you don’t have deep pockets.
I could suggest that we bid £120m for Bellingham. This reporting malarkey is sooo easy. min all seriousness though, it isn’t actually that bad a shout.
I have a high degree of belief in them. Diaz: Played 28 scored 16 and 6 assists Played 26 for LFC, 6 goals and 5 assists. noting that of those 6 games were in the domestic cups. Frankly to come in without any training and start and play and make what is about 1 goal contribution every 2 games and win two medals is not too bad. If he returns what he did for porto alone next season it'll be in my view quite tasty. As i said i've a high degree of belief. For nunez we have to see a guy who did miss the start of last season and we've vetted that injury in detail. he absolutely tormented our players so has clearly the pace and power but his record again suggests a player coming on strongly. still played 41 games and scored 34 with 4 assists. the difference between darwin nunez and haaland is the agent and 1 extra year track record imo. Haaland has been on a mission to get a massive move and has planned his moves from salzburg to dortmund to move up the rankings and be the big deal. 400k a week at 22. mission acomplished. haaland played 30 games last season. 3 separate injuries. Scored 29 goals and made 8 assists. Stellar (when fit) he played 41 the season before and scored 41. Stellar. again 3 separate injures that season. in 1920 he made his red bull to gemrand move and scored 40 odd goals and again gauss what knee issues. hallana is not being questioned but we are hoping the player we got a great look at v benfica will work out? Man city have more to be worried about imo.
I just want to put this out there. Mane 100k per week wages minamino 75k a week wages (supposedly) Origi 60k per week wages milner supposedly 130k a week now: Diaz: 60k a week wages Nunez: 140k a week wage ramsay ? 20k a week? can't find anything more accurate Milner 60k a week just think about that. 365k down to 300k. we are spending less on wages per week and improved. This is moneyball#101 money working smarter rather than big names delivering more or less the same level of performance for far more money.......
Feel a bit for taki but it is what it is.... Probably 10m profit, couple shirts sold in Japan, and a few medals for ya troubles.
He's a good squad player, imo. We can't be like City and have two teams of equal level. I think Minamino has done well enough to be kept on, but it looks like he himself is dissatisfied with his role. That quote could have been taken out of context, of course.
At 7m it was always a winning deal for us. A can't lose one of you like. Keep him a few years let his value go up and sell, exposure in Asia also. Shirts merch all that ****. Hes good enough as a squad player or klopp wouldn't have entertained the idea at all I imagine. So keep for cup games (hes already proved valuable in that regard) or sell for small profit. I can see why he's disappointed in his bit part role tho.
he did well but in the end he was never ever turned to in a game of note was he? he's got his name out there, got an excellent wage. and can secure the rest of his career in a good move now and have his life paid for after football. 75k a week lads, its hard to feel sorry for anyone. Its time to cash in he's now done 2.5 years of his deal and is 27. perfect time to cash in.
well... this shoes stuff Mane kicks off his brogues and diaz takes over. Origi pops his legendary clogs and darwin nunez jumps at the chance Given minamino is the 6th or 7th choice player maybe the kid Gordan can do the job. the way i see it, minamino was only ever a pair of comfy crocs anyway.
