It's bizarre to me, as half of the cabinet seem to be either foreign-born or children of immigrants. Do they really have so little empathy that they can't understand their own parents? Having said that, Priti Patel's father stood for UKIP, FFS. Johnson was born in New York. Raab's dad was a Czech Jew who fled the Nazis as a child. Sunak's parents are both African Indians, as are Patel's. Javid's parents are Pakistani immigrants. Kwarteng's parents are Ghanaian. Sharma was born in India. Zahawi was born in Baghdad. Schapp's family are Jewish. Gove's Scottish. How do they fail to understand the persecution and demonisation of minorities? How far down the list do they think they are, exactly? The arseholes that they're empowering aren't going to stop at asylum seekers.
