Another shameful day for the UK establishment with the extradition of Assange.......a man who has committed no crime. He has merely exposed the hideous crimes of the US and UK governments (and others) Absolute disgrace
Bo Jo back in Ukraine to stop the eu leaders getting too much press. Did anyone see the image of macron fawning over zelinski and the guy looking like he was being touched by slime. Hilarious. Two faced **** macron talking away to putin and licking his balls. Bo Jo is promising our lads to train Ukrainian army. So that's more guys going to get killed.
No one can predict the future, but it's possible that if Russia wins this war many more lives will die in some future endeavour. The fight isn't just for Ukraine. It's for Georgia, Moldova, Finland, Kazakhstan and anywhere else Russia might have once held territory so feel they should control once again. It's also a demonstration to China over what to expect if they keep trying to expand their territory more into other countries. I see us being in Ukraine, not just to save Ukraine but to prevent another "Poland" incident.
Well..... if people actually ponied up the promises Ukraine might have some hope but at this point they lack anything to hurt Russia bar a meat grinder in close. Ukraine cannot win a war of maneuvere.
It's a balancing act. The last thing we want is to make the thing escalate. What we need is a wise and experienced negotiator to make sure we get that balance right, someone who can choose his words carefully and comes across as authoritative but not belligerent. What we have is Boris. please log in to view this image
The Russians need to bleed. The best we can hope for is a long and bloody war where kids are fed into that meat grinder for next 10 years. Putin couldn't give a ****ing damn.
I see four possible outcomes. 1). Russia wins without too many more humiliating losses:. Outcome Russia will be boyant and want more and this won't be the last country Russia attempts to conquer this decade. I wouldn't put it against them to take Moldova or Georgia. If theyre particularly bold even Finland might be at risk if they don't join NATO in time. 2). Russia wins but has catestrophic losses. Putin will probably invade another weaker country that the west is less likely to defend to try and make people forget about Ukraine losses. Kazakhstan's future as an independent nation is toast. 3). Russia loses and Putin is ousted. There will be peace for a while. 4) Russia loses but Putin maintains power. Outcome same as #2. Putin tries to restore dignity by taking out a country that used to be subjugated by Russia but is not in Europe so West turns it's back. Obvious target is again Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan is in their pocket mate. It's a vassal state. The Russians are hiding massive losses here and are basically just firing every and any long range weapon they have at guys who are outraged then feeding more and more into the meat grinder in close when there's no other option. You have to realise this isn't over until Russia goes through odessa into Moldova. Its plan of record. So there's another massive massive meat grinder there.
I said this once before and got shouted down (probably fairly because I admit to not being invested in politics like the rest of you) but Putin didn't make his move while Trump was in the White House. He waited unt sleepy Joe took over. Trump is a loose cannon, nobody could predict anything that he might do. Look at the total mess Biden made of the Afghanistan withdrawal - well Putin was obviously watching and could see what a weak commander in chief he was up against. There are a lot of ifs, buts, ands and maybes - but the suggestion that Putin might have hesitated with Trump there could be a legitimate argument.
He was leading guerilla war tactics in Eastern Ukraine the whole time Trump was in power. I think Putin grew tired of that not working. Trump did nothing. I think if Putin took the temperature there he would have seen he could do what he wanted and American would stand aside. This war has nothing to do with Biden being in power. There was no bigger pushover for Putin than Trump. Even out of power Trump was calling Putin a genius in the first few weeks of the war and basically legitimizing the war saying Putin was right for calling his troops "peacekeepers". Putin made a major mistake not invading whilst Trump was in power. The US would have stepped aside and not supplied Ukraine with weapons and intelligence.
You could replace Trump here with Obama. He seriously misjudged Putin and was against arming Ukraine for fear of agitating Russia. I read a long piece about the Ukraine/Russia situation trying to understand it. Fiona Hill, a Russia expert and former senior National Security Council aide at the White House who worked with both Democrat and Republican administrations and who was the star witness against Trump at his impeachment and has been very critical of Trump, said that she believed Putin waited to invade Ukraine until Biden became president "preferring Biden's predictability to Trump's volatility". As I said I'm learning as I go. I look for proper sources where I can and so I think that if experts with decades of knowledge of Putin and Russia are suggesting it then maybe it shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
Well I suggest you look up just who signed that treaty with the taliban. It reads Donald j at the start. I also suggest you check when putin started in on Ukraine and that little thing called covid that delayed the show. Biden means nothing. And trump means even less
I don't have a dog in this fight neither do I have a position to defend. I've put forward a view posited by a very credible source which I think is a legitimate argument. It's been shot down again which is fair enough, everyone's got their own take on things. It just leaves me completely outside any of these kinds of discussions which leads me back to rethinking my decision on trying to understand politics. I was going to say it's a holy mess but it isn't, it's an unholy mess
