Unfortunate - though perfectly accurate - choice of words there.

Perhaps they think it's a sort of fetish, a totem that will ward off the evil spirit of communism.
If they don't have one on permanent display or on their clothes they will be possessed by the demons of social awareness.

something like that as they seem to have 1 for ever 2 people and all have to be pristine.

i tried to find the spend in the UK but could only find the ardent nationalist tories have spend a whole 169k on flags in 2021 with a range form 2k for a really top end down to really cheap ones so per head theres probably a few more due to bruying or celebrating the queen whatever. but not 1 in 2 for the uk. not 1 in 100.

What's really creepy is they make kids pray to the flag once (or more) every single school day. They all have to stand hand over heart and pledge blind unquestioning allegiance to the flag. I think half of what makes Americans so weird probably comes from having to worship a flag once or more a day until they're 18. It's a really weird and creepy thing to watch a bunch of six year olds having to pray to a piece of cloth.

Americans think nothing of it because they grew up doing it too. The ironic thing is, the pledge of alliegence actually started with American communists. It's a bloody communist pledge they're all doing.<laugh>

Also, is it just me, or does the USA flag not look a little tacky. The old historical ones looked nice, but it's just so busy and crowded looking.

Has anyone messed around with any of the AI image generation yet?

My current avatar is what happens when I asked Dalle to give me an "Anthropomorphic Blue Potato painted by Leonid Afremov". I quite like it... <laugh>

This is an "Anthropomorphic Blue Potato painted by Van Gogh":

And a Cat painted by Afremov (no prizes for guessing my favourite artist) photo_1655221182456.png

And a Badger in a Liverpool shirt with a blue and yellow potato

Not sure what's going on down the middle of the Liverpool shirt... Everytime I've told it to give me something in a Liverpool shirt it looks like that.

Interestingly, MITO's name pulled back all AI generated football images... Owen and Injured must always point to Michael Owen.

Middle right clearly looks like a Newcastle kit with the black replaced with red.

Also tried putting in "Garlic Klopp" because I thought that might pull back interesting images... It only returned pictures of Garlic though.

Zorba generated images that looked like the film... Black and white photos of men on a beach with the weird smudged faces it seems to generate.

The sheep or the image generation.

This is where you generate AI images:
    https://huggingface.co/spaces/dalle-mini/dalle-mini

Often have to try like a dozen times in a row because server too busy.

There are much better AI image generators out there now, but you either have to pay or there's some insane wait list. This one is pretty good just for a laugh.

Imagine being the "ethics advisor" to Boris - you'd never get a moment's rest. No wonder he's quit.

I know absolutely nothing about him, I just heard the phrase "Boris Johnson's ethics advisor" on the radio and sprayed coffee all over the place.
