You know what, I’ve got Ferrari down for this one. Short lap and no really long sections bar the final straight before the chicane into start finish line , but traction out of that is key which Ferrari have.

Think it might be a little similar to Melbourne.

Would be lovely to see Carlos Sainz grab a first win but Charles has had the edge all year so I’d make him favourite.

Red Bull tyre management could put Ferrari under pressure but I think they might just hang it tough.

Leclerc taking a new power unit, so will have a 10 place grid penalty this weekend.

I like your way of thinking and would love to see Ferrari get back in their winning ways. They just need to keep going to the chequerd flag and not break down.Reliability seems to be their biggest problem.Come on Carlos !!!

Unless the Ferrari has mechanical issues, Sainz won’t be beating Charles as he’s shown that during a race he’s simply not fast enough.

Some chat that says LeClerc is talking a 10 place penalty with the PU this weekend.

I think basically if he takes a new one of everything he gives himself a good pool of options going forward and he should be fast enough to grab P4 minimum with a clean race so damage limitation.

Reports of technical directive about bouncing and setting a max vertical G that drivers are subjected to. So it looks like Merc will be a bit slower this weekend!

Ride height to be increased by 10mm for the cars that exceed the max vertical G that the drivers are subjected to.

Cheers, that's quite a punishment! I sort of expected something like the team must increase the ride height till no longer exceeding the limit!
Looks like Merc will have to increase ride height before hitting the track so they don't hit the G limit and then have to increase by the full 10mm.
It makes you wonder how many mm between bouncing and not bouncing?

It's a lot closer to Australia than people like to admit. You are right. It's not easy pass here.

    It is however low downforce.

According to reports the red bull is running 20mm higher and having no issues but it looks slammed to the floor so it's all very confusing

I guess floor/plank and side skirt for want of a different word are different things.

Merc is apparently running really low to generate any sort of df.

Russell has had a whine about fia calling their solution a sticking plaster.

The only thing preventing me saying more than fix your car is the thought of panic broken legs here.

They'll all take extra parts at some point.

Is this the ideal place to do it is the question.

Did anyone hear Horner squirming when Sky asked him about FIA reg changes for bouncing and he said no way should rules be changed during the season. He said it would be penalising teams who did a good job. He was then asked about why he wanted an in season increase to the budget cap! He said that was different as it was inflation and outside his control and thus the budget cap should be increased!! Then it was suggested he could just not make so many upgrades to which he went on about inflation etc.... It was funny listening to him squirm - I think it was Ted grilling him....<laugh>

He squirms whenever a bit of truth about Red Bullshit is mentioned in an interview with him

What about Verstappen changing his car number to one because he was gifted a championship that Hamilton had already won

No class what so ever between them

What was more interesting was listening to Hamilton describe the job of riding a greased pig.

    It sounds absolutely crazy.

    As for horner... grill away.

Well given Hamilton had not actually won the championship as the race hadn't finished before the screw job that's patently false.

Reality is if they cancelled the race verstappen wins.

If they red flag its a ramming match.

They did the wrong thing but there was so many fudges for the races before and in that race itself that it was a total mess. Hamilton was screwed by the desire to end under green flag and caving to horner on radio. There wasn't time to do it right. That doesn't mean Hamilton won anything cos he hadn't crossed a line.

It's Max all day.... I fear what looked like a potentially close title fight may be about fizzle away. Long way to go, but really feels like the momentum is well and truly with RBR.

Steady on with the doom and gloom Sgt B!

You’re forgetting that the nice Mr Horner said that RBR would be unable to attend several races if the budget cap wasn’t raised. And that nice Mr Horner wouldn’t tell porkies now….would he?

I feel like there’s a lot of weird politics going on this weekend.

The pecking order is seeing some weird things. Merc seem to get worse- is this to exaggerate the whole bouncing issue? Carlos Sainz is being very vocal about the bouncing again. What would Ferrari stand to gain from change though? Not sure.

Alonso and Alpine have been fast, Aston Martin have been fast, Ferrari customer teams are absolutely nowhere despite being very good early on this year (maybe PUs all turned down though after last week?)

I don’t know the who’s the what’s or the whys but I just sense there’s a bit of gaming going on at the moment.

Gut feel- and I don’t necessarily agree- is that there is a pull towards active suspension solution- that is being resisted by some teams (RBR), backed by others (Merc), and splitting opinions in others (Ferrari).
