Not good enough for the Prem. He does have the occasional good game when he is fit but no very often. We'd be mad to give him a new contract. We need centre half re-inforcements in Jan and in the summer. Liam Ridgewell or Bassong will do nicely, both would do very nicely.
DT is correct, threads like this always end up lacking a bit of respect. His injury record is atrocious though.
Some players are injury-prone, that's fair enough. I don't like it though that he has this habit of going down every game or two, looking at the bench like a sparrow with a poorly wing for five minutes invariably putting the team under needless pressure. He had a decent albeit fortunate game on sunday but he's a liability at this level and barely passable in the league below.
For his size he doesn't win that many headers, and he doesn't use his frame to stop attackers. Too injury prone, and to be honest, when all is said and done I am a bit disappointed with him. Not to say he has't had games where he has doen well, just reckon its time for a change and maybe this will benefit both parties in the end. Bassong would be that little bit of quality we lack in the central defence area at the moment.
No disrespect intended Northy but he's never filled me with confidence and seems to lack pace and more importantly, awareness of whats going on around him. To survive at this level we need more than the occasional good game and stroke of luck. Traore & Gabbidon show the way we should be going, if either of them ever get back on the pitch that is!
QPR boss sends Hall contract warning By Jacob Murtagh Oct 29 2011 Recommend (1) inShare NEIL Warnock has challenged Fitz Hall to prove he's worthy of a new deal at QPR. The former Southampton, Crystal Palace and Wigan defender is in the final year of his contract at Loftus Road, and talks haven't started about extending his time in W12. Hall has made eight appearances for Rangers in the Premier League this season, but is expected to drop down to the bench once Danny Gabbidon returns to fitness. And Warnock has warned the 30-year-old he must play to his potential if he wants to earn fresh terms. The QPR boss said: “I haven't spoken to Fitz about a new deal and I don't plan to at the moment. “He's got to do his talking on the pitch really and he knows that. He's aware of the situation and I've kept him well informed.” Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest QPR news. Not having a pop at anyone on here but why is it that Rangers fans always have to have some kind of hate figure in the team ?? No disrespect but the fella has at times been half decent and he has been there when needed (Injuries aside). Please dont shoot me down but it just seems to be history repeating (Karl Ready ?) Cue friendly banter and abuse......
i do not like player bashing, but Hall just hasn't seemed to work for QPR. My earlier comments I stand by, and If Hall proves to be a decent centre half (just think of free header to anelka against chelsea where it was easier to score than to put into Paddy's hands), I will wrie a coment in support of him, but cannot see that happening. Alan MacDonald was of similar height and build to Hall and you knew full well that he would win more headers than not. The other issue I have with Hall is his injury record with hamstring and groin strains - Sheron was a disappointment with his injury records and Hall is up there along with him.
One size did it again today - sat in the pitch looking wistfully at the bench after his latest "injury". My blood briefly boiled, then I just laughed. Predictable or what? Don't blame him for not fancying an afternoon v Ade and VDV,
Interesting Hall got to start today with Gabbidon fit. Either Neil rates Hall more than most on here, or Gabbidon was not quite 100%. We looked weak at the back today on crosses without Hall, not that I mean necessarily we would have been better if he'd stayed on - probably we need a new top quality CB in January.
