Watched The Meg last night ... special effects not bad and I do love most things about sharks (real and fuctionalised)

Jase was Jase. 3 expressions, Oak, Teak and Bamboo... but it was watchable and the scientific premise was 'interesting'

    Overall 5.7/10

Finished all the series I'm watching and want more of Outer Range and Night Sky confirmed before going there so think I'll get on this The Boys bandwagon.

    Credit where it's due.

Episode 5 of Obi Wan Kenobi is actually pretty solid.

Started season 2 of The Boys. It's very good even though it's not worth the hype and the very high ratings from the usual websites.

For alternative super hero action I still rate Umbrella Academy higher.

Watched Downhill last night, on Film4.

Was neither good nor ****e, just something to watch of an evening and only 90 mins long.

    The skiing was good.

It’s not a film ( tv ) but hope it’s OK for me to post this .

    I watched on iPlayer -

Our Falklands War ; A Frontline Story .

Incredible IMHO . 89 minutes long , and it’s available for another 11 months .

I've watched it twice inside a week. Even though it's a documentary the footage and soldiers' gripping accounts, makes it as tense as any harrowing war film. And it was for real!

I was too young to remember events but that childhood impression was one of it being much easier than it actually was. The recounts were a real eye opener of how hard and mentally cruel it was. It's an incredible piece of television. Btw each and every one of the soldiers on it was genuine and a real hero in the true sense.

Defo one for Comm if he was still here.

The "Forgotten Voices" series of books ( think the first was to collect a lot of the IWM recordings ) includes one from the Falklands and that is an interesting read if the doc has sparked an interest .

My late uncle fought there, he was probably the reason I joined up myself. I know he lost people there and that it wasn't something that he would talk about. He died of a heart attack really young.

Yes I realised they are all genuine , it’s the mental baggage that I get , ( no I was not in the military , but as some on here know I have ISSUES )

but sadly so so many people don’t .

Incredible bit of TV documentary , thank you BBC .

Treble , were you to young or have you memory issues . I get the impression you were probably in your late 30’s when that war was on ?
