Hm don’t like that. Never want newly promoted team first up, especially not away.

Could be better, could be worse.

We play 4 of the other 5 big 6 teams away first half of season. City only one at home first half.

Should make 2nd half easier in theory

    Average enough fixtures

The game v city at home decides the league (as in don't win can't expect to win the league)

end of season needs to be viewed as a 10 match run.

    City Away (massive massive game)
Arsenal H (top 6 game, not too bad)
    Leeds A
    Forest H
    West ham A (unpredictable tbh)
Spurs H (top 4 game HUGE)
    Brentford H
Leicester A (who knows, they are very odd team)
    Villa H
    Southampton A (potential relegation dogfight)

The run in is reasonable. both top 6 games in there are at home, it starts with the massive city game.

I would want to have some lead going into that City game. make it acceptable to have a draw. again its 95 points to win this thing.

We've had a newly promoted team the past four seasons which is why I predicted one this season - I just picked the wrong one <laugh>

So, for the fourth season in a row, we'll be opening against the Championship winners...

    19-20; Norwich (H)
    20-21; Leeds (H)
    21-22; Norwich (A)
    22-23; Fulham (A)

I wanted this split out again for this reason. This is about 2022/23 season and her eis what LFC are expected to do

    SEPTEMBER
    Saturday 3 – Everton (A)
    CL group Matchday 1: 6/7 September 2022
    Saturday 10 – Wolverhampton Wanderers (H)
    CL group Matchday 2: 13 September 2022
    Saturday 17 – Chelsea (A)

We break for the INETERNATIONAL AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER. Yes AGAIN. FFS

    OCTOBER
    Saturday 1 – Brighton & Hove Albion (H)
    CL group Matchday 3: 4/5 October 2022
    Saturday 8 – Arsenal (A)
    CL Matchday 4: 11/12 October 2022
    Saturday 15 – Manchester City (H)
    Wednesday 19 (8pm) – West Ham United (H)
    Saturday 22 – Nottingham Forest (A)
    Matchday 5: 25/26 October 2022
    Saturday 29 – Leeds United (H)

thats NINE games LFC are expected to play in october.

now can anyone explain how any international team will be expected to have a team fresh to go to this sports washing blood cup.
Best of luck thats what I say.

    NOVEMBER
    CL Group Matchday 6: 1/2 November 2022
    Saturday 5 – Tottenham Hotspur (A)
EFL Third Round: November 8-9, 2022
    Saturday 12 – Southampton (H)

4 games in 11 or 12 days then the blood cup starts.

    December
    EFL QF: December 20/21, 2022
    Monday 26 – Aston Villa (A)
    Saturday 31 – Leicester City (H)

the EFL are not taking the world cup return into account even for the QF of thier comp!!!

As I've said before... I really don't like Fulham. I have an irrational dislike of them not caused by any specific event, just for some reason always been one of my most disliked teams.

So this is a spicy start for me.

Apparently we're playing City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Spurs after midweek Champions League games next year.

Which is good. Means we all have same period of rest as they will also have played in the CL midweek (EL in arsenal case)

interesting way to look at it. in general the length of trip and timing will have some bearing and the quality of opponents. We will be 2nd seeds in group yeah? all we need do it get 2nd in group to progress so we can even rest players if we get the right group and right home/away set up.

    AUGUST 2022
    Saturday 20 – Manchester United (A)

United game has come a bit early this season. We are going to smash them.

Klopp’s side start the season with three meetings against those in the top six (Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal) before they host City, and two from the expected bottom six (Fulham and Bournemouth).
City, on the other hand, will meet two of the top six (Tottenham and Man United), and three from the probable bottom six (Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Southampton).

the truth fr Utd is that they need time to develop their squad and its 2 weeks to preseason now. this game is 2months away and therefore tin hat has 6 weeks of time to get his side in shape.

De gea - glued to line, causes massive issues.
    RB: no real good option
Varane - lovely player if fit
Maguire - looks like he totally lost the plot. body position, decision making etcetc.
Shaw - unfit usually, could be crucial if he's getting a full preseason to shift 2 stones and he can run.
Mctominay. runner. hard worker also not fit
    Fred. meh.
Fernandes- where will he actually play for tin hate. this is crucial.
Sancho - again where will he play. LW or RW.
ronaldo - can't run/ won't run. kills any thought of press
rashford - huge season. last was a disaster. cwouldn't/couldn't track.

They don't suit a high press game. de gea and maguire bust any thought of a high line as one can't even decide to stay up and the other won't sweep up.
    Midfield needs work
Forwards didn't track last season and Ronaldo doesn't suit it.

they need 4 or 5 signings and an attitude adjustment from some others.

Yes, I would hope we should win this. They will of course still have that new manager boost that clubs seem to get for two or three games after signing a new manager.

In the end there's lots of good players but making a team will take longer. They were "good enough" for a distant second once so intheory can put something together
