Keeling over in this heat today, been drinking loads of water, but not helped much, so couple of small chocolate bars for reccovery. I thought oh good, hot weather, hopefully I won't eat so much, just do salads etc, clearly that's that idea fooked now.
I realised about 5 or 10 mins ago I was going to keel over, so just eaten 3 of those Morrisons Nougat Whips, tiny but quite nice, sort of a version of milkyway. I skipped lunch or wahtever you call a midday meal, my doh.
Been a degree or two over 100F most days this week here.... With insane levels of humidity to accompany the heat too! (100F is about 38C)
I used to struggle with the heat but I seem to have gained a tolerance from somewhere. Mrs luv will struggle in Barcelona next month lol.
Hottest place I've been and that includes the Saudi desert is Portugal, I was sat out on a covered bar area on a beach couldn't have a large beer it just went was warm as tea half way through. I mentioned to the waiter it was very hot and he said it was 50.
I imagine Portugal is pretty humid too which probably makes it worse. At least in the Saudi desert I'm sure it's dry air and that makes a huge difference. When it's hot and humid it almost feels like you're walking through a wall when you go outside.
I remember taking the kids out there one particular time, and one of them had left a bottle of water in the car. There was no shade when I parked. When we got back to the car, I saw the bottled water on the back seat, so picked it up before they got in, as I thought that won't be too good now, I actually had to drop it, I hadn't contemplated on the water boiling.
I replaced the gear knob on my shifter, got myself a nice metal knob. (I'm talking about the car ) I was an idiot to do so. 6 months out of the year I have to use a coozie over the shifter for the first five minutes driving until the ac can cool enough for me to tentatively touch my knob. Leave my car in the hot sun, and that gear knob can cause serious burns.
