The racist East Yorkshire criminals who have had tougher sentences imposed. One of them smashed a bottle over a woman's head and made racial slurs Bodybuilder Darryl Crawford was locked up for six years at Hull Crown Court in April for his vile and vicious attack against a woman at a flat in Bridlington. In the attack, which a judge said "could so easily have killed her", Crawford smashed a vodka bottle and stamped on her after accusing her of "disrespecting" him. During the attack, the court heard 29-year-old Crawford from Leeds also hurled racist abuse at the white woman. The CPS said Crawford's sentence was extended due to the racial elements of his offence. Listing details of Crawford's offence, the CPS said: "She told him that she did not want to start a relationship with him, and he became racially abusive before assaulting her with a bottle, causing serious injuries. He pleaded guilty at the first hearing in the Crown Court to causing grievous bodily harm with intent. "He was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment, uplifted from seven years and with credit for an early guilty plea will serve six years’ imprisonment.
