The first part of the interview is here. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20206210.duxbury-optimistic-watfords-future-rob-edwards/
As someone says will they put words into action? What if we don’t start well - I presume promotion is the ambition ?
So the club has managed to reduce the debt, and has no money problems according to the latest piece from the Scott interview. www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20206732.watfords-debt-reduced-owner-will-never-call-loans/
https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...s-watfords-young-players-like-hungbo-pollock/ “Every decision will be Rob’s and we believe in him,” Duxbury stressed. “His team, his formation, his choice of players. We are confident Rob can deliver us a sustainable and successful football club.
Cukur gained his first senior cap for Turkey - came on for the last 5 minutes of their 2-0 win over Lithuania.
Duxbury criticizing Hodgson and Foster. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...irmans-disappointment-actions-foster-hodgson/ Mind you easy to do now they have left.. Obviously fining Foster wasn't much of a deterrent (maybe dropping him would have been if they thought it was totally wrong ) and maybe to prove their point the club should have got rid of Roy at the time.
I wonder which three players from the U21 side are thought to be ready to join the first team squad? www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20214050.chairman-says-watford-managers-always-input-new-signings/
Do we have an U21 squad - I thought it jumped from U18 to U23? The likes of Hungbo, Morris, Forde, Baah and Pollock must be contenders.
I feel Duxbury is just spouting the obvious to keep his job: https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...s-philosophy-changed-quest-sustained-success/ In most industries 3 years of "work," that he's done and you'd be long gone.
A lot of talk and promises - will they put these words into action. Will young players really get a chance? Does Edwards have a say in who come and goes? Is he really going to be a long term option? - What if we only get 7 points from 7 games again? Hopefully won't have to find out but feels like promotion is still very much the goal and expectation with our "excellent squad" so from the off there will be pressure on the manager and players - maybe rightly in someways but we know how things can turn.
Talking about our relationship with Udinese. Must be time to raid them again. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...chairman-explains-relationship-udinese-works/
Scott Duxbury is still keen on extending the capacity of both the EJ and GT stands - but the reader comments on the article are just so negative. Why can't people stop and think about what the stadium was like before the Pozzos bought the club - or were they not fans back then? https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...d-remain-vicarage-road-plans-extend-capacity/
Just down to the general negativity about the club fans seem to have . Never really seen it before tbh from fans. Very libellous comments too - surprised they are allowed .
I would love to see all four stands raised just enough to give use 30k plus capacity with a fully joined up roof which would give a stadium fit for the Premier League I can remember winning promotion to the 2nd tier for the first time in our history and watching Watford when we were bottom of the 4th Division Too many fan these days can only remember the Eighties under GT or the the first 8 years under the Pozzos and do not fully understand where our natural position is in the football pyramid. We are a top thirty club which means we spend time in both of the top 2 Divisions, if we dropped back to the 3rd tier (as Sunderland did) they would have something to moan about, our owners have now understood we cannot just buy instant success the fans (all of us) have to accept that as well
