It’s been a long time since I watched a day of test cricket, with the worst hangover in the world that and the f1 were a blessing today, utter class
i thought about this before i posted, but surely if he went all 'maverick' on his own that is not good, no one else decided to go mental...if his captain gave him the nod then fair enough but seemed strange to try to force a high scoring game while still so far behind.
Root accumulates runs so quickly. He's off the mark first ball and wasn't too far off a run a ball. Absolute magician. I didn't mind how Stokes played today. With Root at the other end he had a bit of freedom. Another half hour and we could have been almost level.
Stokes will.lead from the front in situations like this. He'll still bed himself in when the time is right I'd expect, but his natural.attacking instinct is one of the reasons he is the captain.
I’m glad that’s ridiculous in a good way! Sir Alastair Cook: There is stunned silence in the ground. Have we just seen that? Post update please log in to view this image Jonathan Agnew BBC cricket correspondent on Test Match Special What sort of shot is that?! 116.1 overs Eng 495-5 Trail by 58 Oh my days. Joe Root, stop it man. He's just reverse scooped Tim Southee - and his second ball of the day - over the slip cordon for SIX! An unreal shot!
I think it's only going one way right now..... If we win from here it will be a hell of an effort after then put 550 on the board
I agree with him. Didn’t see it as disappointing at all. Saw it as England trying to score runs. Been a fantastic test
Draw favourite Utd think we’re second favourites. Those odds I posted early in this test are a little less now. I think draw 40, England 35 NZ 25
